New music?

Jw because I feel like I've been coming back every so often and there's nothing. Am I wrong in thinking this has been the longest time without an album? Don't get me wrong if she's taking her time I'm all for it. It's just constant tours and no new content makes me concerned for retirement or something. Just curious if there is some news I've missed or something.

You won't have to fear that ayu will (willingly) retire. She will keep going as long as she can, it simply seems that touring is her priority at the moment.

It has been three years since M(A)DE IN JAPAN was released so in terms of studio albums, yes this is the longest time without one. However, there was the EP "TROUBLE" that got released in August 2018.

I kinda feel like Ayu isnt all that interested in filming PVs and recording music anymore :/

No new music on horizon, kinda sad, maybe she will release mini album during this year, but there is no announcement (yet).

metropass 3rd June 2019 05:33 PM

I feel like she is not releasing even one single song this year. I'll be super grateful if there will be a new song at the rest of 2019, just one song is enough.

Aderianu 3rd June 2019 06:23 PM

Wouldn't be surprised if TROUBLE is the last album with new music.

ayuinh.k? 3rd June 2019 07:20 PM

I guess every concert from now on will just be a collection of songs from her discography. Only changes are new arrangements.

U guys r way too dramatic...

DonkeyKongRemix 4th June 2019 04:34 AM

I think some people cringe at the constant mention of retirement. I think that it's very unlikely.

However...

At this point, I do wonderif there's any chance that she'll go on hiatus. She's never done that, but things do seem kind of hereand there with her releases.

This. It hasn’t been a year since TROUBLE was released and people are saying this might be her last release ever 🤣🤣🤣

Aderianu 4th June 2019 10:06 AM

That's not drama, that's realism :) anyway, we'll have to wait and see

A One and MIJ were more than a year apart. MIJ and TROUBLE more than 2 years. We are still under a year since TROUBLE. Let’s give her a chance~~~

Considering this is all based on pretty much nothing, nope, it's not realism.

Not releasing a full album in a pretty reasanoble time does't mean she won't release anything anymore.

Not even getting deaf means she won't be releasing anything anymore considering she is still performing and may have past recorded material.

Stating ur fears as a fact doesn't make them real.

At least she released sixxxxxx and Winter diary between A One and MIJ.

Imagine if people were saying Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Rihanna and most pop girls are retiring for not releasing new music every year (they usually take 3 to 6 years between releases) so I don't see why start talking about retiring in Ayu's case. Even if we don't count TROUBLE (I do but some people act like it doesn't exist) MIJ was realeased just about 3 years ago, is not really a long period (compared to others artists) and during those years she toured like crazy, like it or not, as long as she keeps touring she's active and even if she decided to stop realising new music she still has a HUGE catalog of songs to do another 20 different tours :laugh

mi|kshake 4th June 2019 08:41 PM

Honestly not expecting any new releases any time soon.

ExodusUK 5th June 2019 12:51 AM

She's a touring act now guys.

Cahz- 5th June 2019 03:29 AM

If it wasn't for the concerts we've been able to watch the last 2 years, I would have already lost it a long time ago.

I think that eventually (next year?) she will realize that she has sung almost all of her discography live since 2016 and that she needs to make new music to make her shows worth attending again lol

Considering she usually does tours with a narrative in mind, there's an infinite number of possibilities and combinations. So, don't count on that :D

Well, I really miss her studio works, but it's been almost 10 years since I'm aware her final goal is to be on stage, it's her priority and the deafness made it more urgent than ever. Also, she mentioned being out of ideas for new songs, so I prefer she keeps away from recording until she has a clear concept or interesting idea for a PV, for example.

What I really want from her is a release of her concerts, from Jtb CDL 'til now. Wouldn't be wonderful if she releases that at streaming platforms?
