New thread since last one was locked.

What you guys think it would be a cool trend or style of music that Kumi could dip into for the next release?

With the comeback of disco inspired tracks, I think it would be a nice style for her. I'm a little over the trap style so it would be a nice change.

Gustavopc 14th June 2020 09:05 PM

Thanks for making the new thread, Kaled!

I'd also looove Kumi to go retro for a release, ever since f(x)'s 4 Walls and Wonder Girls' I Feel You, buuuut I don't know, it doesn't sound like what she's into lately. It doesn't seem like these songs are hits in Japan as well, which could influence her. Maybe Gaga will make Kuu want to do a song or two in a dance-disco-ish style but I wouldn't have much faith on that :(

Corvina 15th June 2020 02:43 PM

Kuu is working in the studio now, while always keeping social distance.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...922/RdEhh0.png

From her manager's Insta

Back-On did a live streaming of a no-audience concert this weekend. Tohoshinki did one not too long ago as well even with dancers.
Maybe this might be a way to do something for her 20th anniversary, also having experience with it now in the family.

KarenPang 15th June 2020 04:49 PM

Kuu do livestream concerts is 1 alternate possibility of her celebrating her 20th anniversary this year

It depends if she wants fans to pay for it or not

FLOWER FLOWER did their 1st livestream concert just last night which fans had to pay 3,000 Yen to watch the concert via e+

While last month , Kiyoharu did 2 back to back livestream concerts which fans had to pay either 7,000 Yen or 12,500 Yen to access the content online via ZAIKO

That's costly & it's as good as though you're attending a concert in Japan physically but the upside is that ZAIKO's video quality is probably the best out of all the streaming sites I've seen

ZAIKO's video quality is extremely good ie. Blu-ray which somewhat justifies the price and it doesn't lag unlike Nico Nico Nama & let alone SHOWROOM -_-

And I'm not surprised Kiyoharu is doing another round of livestream concerts via ZAIKO this coming Thurs & Fri and fans have to pay either 7,500 Yen or 13,000 Yen to access the content :dead2

I still wonder if the December dates actually happen. AAA are still going ahead with their November and December dome shows.

KarenPang 15th June 2020 04:59 PM

^ Think it depends on the artiste & their management ?

I know LDH cancel their entire LDH PERFECT YEAR 2020 worth of 168 performances until Boxing Day and LDH postponed everything til next March

https://natalie.mu/music/news/382691

Corvina 15th June 2020 05:06 PM

Kuu is going to do a Pilates Insta Live tomorrow morning.
We're also getting something on June 26, but no hint so far what it might be. Fans are wondering if it might be a new song.

lovethatkuu&ayu 15th June 2020 05:07 PM

LDH seems to have made an arrangement with Abema for some online live shows.

Da-iCE are doing a special online digital live to make up their cancelled hall tour.

I could see Kumi doing something similar if she feels uncomfortable with doing the December shows.

kaled kalil 15th June 2020 05:40 PM

Kumi could use the mu-mo live system again, it worked pretty well the last three times. The price wasn't that expensive for one concert (2,700 yens). Or even use niconico as she did last time.

At this point I believe the best thing is just to postpone the arena concert to next year or something like this.

Gustavopc 16th June 2020 12:48 AM

On another note, today I shared the results for that best songs poll, it turned out... interesting lol

https://twitter.com/DoingKoda/status...99363060150275

I mean top 5 is really predictable but some older gems ranked lower than I expected while SHOW ME YOUR HOLLA made it to top 10

Wth is that song doing in there?

The TOP 10 is banger after banger. Winner & show girl would actually sound cute together for a concert. UNIVERSE not being in the top 10 is homophobic. UNIVERSE>POP DIVA.

Corvina 16th June 2020 05:48 AM

I didn't vote, but BRIDGET SONG is amazing.
The rest is very predictable for Western fans.
Except for Winner Girl, don't know what that is doing there.

kaled kalil 16th June 2020 02:11 PM

Her Pilates video is up on her IGTV https://www.instagram.com/tv/CBenVBWD1Mr/

Gustavopc 16th June 2020 06:56 PM

I guess BRIDGET SONG is a lowkey favorite to many people so it ended up getting many votes. Also it seems to me her fanbase on twitter got to know her later than most of us from AHS or other jpop boards, so songs like real Emotion, Cutie Honey, Selfish and SHAKE IT ranked lower cause it might sound outdated to them.

I was a bit sad no song from re(CORD) made it to the top 50 but okay lol

kaled kalil 18th June 2020 03:14 PM

It will be interesting to see if Kumi will be part of it. By being an online festival, I imagine that they won't broadcast on TV this time, since they might want the audience to pay to see it. Since they had a deal with dTV last year, it might happen this year again.

I won't get my hopes up anyway, it might be for an app with region restriction, like dTV. God knows how much pain in the ass was to record her BPM appearance on abema a couple of years ago. lol

Corvina 18th June 2020 06:13 PM

The info says something about being worldwide starting with Asia, so it's likely we'll get a non-restricted broadcast.

Corvina 19th June 2020 03:34 PM

There's going to be another live broadcast limited to her FCs as well as another aftertalk session for FC winners on June 26!
Contents will be the FC campaigns for her 20th anniversary as well as updates for the other activities (planned) this year and also the new songs she's making at home.
