Ayu's body language in the past

Is it just me?

As I was watching old lives, the thought that I have never seen an artist that has so much expression on their face as Ayu, came into my mind. An artist might be able to sing well and be beautiful on the outside but there was something else to Ayu's attractiveness.

Even when I just look at pictures, the emotions she used to have in her eyes, I'm puzzled wondering about how she did that. I really don't know any Artist with the same kind of ability.

Posting Ourselves and My names woman as an example :

I find it incredible how much emotion she radiates with just her facial expressions https://youtu.be/73c_CR17JyY?t=195 ). How come I have not yet seen anyone else that could do that? (Please drop some names if you can think of someone)

I was looking into Geishas and I think part of what added to her beauty was the way she carried herself, her gestures and body language. Artists do practice facial expression but I have never seen anyone do it like Ayu did. (ok this is the end of repeating myself lol)

What do you think?

I think with Ayu it's partially due to the size of her eyes and the intent she has when she's really into a project. Nowadays I feel like that is a bit rarer in some of her photo works but in other cases during lives she is very much the same.

There was something so mesmerizing about Ayu during her peak. The way she waved around her manicured hands was just stunning! She truly has the charisma like no other.

She didn't get that far with acting, but having that foundation when she was younger really helped! She just captivated whenever she went.

Very interesting to hear what you all have to say on that, I was afraid I'm the only with such thoughts

Ayu can really express a lot though her face and her eyes... Very few pop performers out there can do that to the same level as her. Uhm Jung Hwa and Mylene Farmer comes to mind.

Her big eyes were a selling point at least at the start of her career. I heard her music before seeing photos and I remember being mesmerized when I finally saw her. I think it must've been a picture from the Whatever era. In some photos she almost looks like Alita from the live adaption. Bigger eyes is a big part of what makes her able to be so expressive. Her visual "language" so to speak and the expressiveness of her music also helps. There's really no other artist that comes with that same package. In terms of look, I suppose Asami Konno and maybe alan are a bit similar?

These days "everyone" looks doe-eyed because of filters, so it's not as impactful. Ayu has her natural features, but there was also a lot of make up involved to help achieve the look, and photo-shop for her covers to the extent that she sometimes looks like an alien (A BEST II...).

I'm watching a-nation 03 right now. Her mannerisms are definitely "classic Ayu" style. There are times when her mannerisms are very... energetic. I can't decide if she seems to be filled with nervous energy, though. I feel like she really captivates viewers because behind the very girlish guise (pigtails and big eyes) you can see a complicated and thoughtful person.
