Artists for 72nd Kouhaku Uta Gassen announced

The artists who will be performing on the '72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen' have been announced.

This year, there will be a total of 44 artists with 22 on the red team, 21 on the white team, and one artist for the special corner. First time performers include Awesome City Club, Kamishiraishi Mone, BiSH, and millennium parade×Belle (Nakamura Kaho) on the red team, and KAT-TUN, Snow Man, DISH//, Hirai Dai, Hotei Tomoyasu, and Mafumafu on the white team.

This year’s program will broadcast live with an audience from Tokyo International Forum Hall A. It will be hosted by Oizumi Yo, Kawaguchi Haruna, and NHK announcer Wakuda Mayuko.

The 'Kouhaku Uta Gassen' will air on December 31 from 7:30 pm.

Big big big congrats to KAT-TUN !

What a way to wrap up KAT-TUN's 15th anniversary with their long overdue 1st appearance on Kouhaku :weep

For all the horrible things their longtime fans including me having to endure that happened to them over the years , to say their 15th anniversary is so much more better than their 10th is a big understatement

I'm honestly surprised that this year is KAT-TUN's first appearance on Kouhaku Uta Gassen. I thought they've been there every year since they got popular. :0

Their longtime fans like myself & the reminding members suffered a lot of trauma the last decade which I think all of the in band fighting + members leaving all of drama that overshadowed and prevented NHK from deciding them to invite them to perform on Kouhaku , until now

Even NEWS who debuted earlier than KAT-TUN , they have not been invited to perform in Kouhaku and theirs is an even more sadder story as it's so not funny to see 9 members wilt down to 3 over the last 2 decades @_@

That said for me being a longtime KAT-TUN fan I'm so happy for them & I thought they couldn't sprung in another surprise before the year ends but this's possibly the best news of the year

Seiko's song hasn't been announced yet, as she still has to make a decision whether or not she is able to perform, following the passing of her only child, Sayaka Kanda. I hope she takes the time she needs to heal, losing your child is the worst thing that could happen to any parent. :(

^ Honestly if I were Matsuda Seiko , I will not perform in this year's Kouhaku

For her to lose her only child so unexpectedly is bad enough & let alone this tragic news has also been reportedly internationally which doesn't help matters

I would lie low & be out of the public spotlight until I'm certain I'm mentally ok

No parent should bury their own child , it's so awful really :c

I think she'll cancel her performance

It was announced that Seiko will not participate in this year's Kouhaku.
I'm glad she has decided to put herself first and focus on processing everything. I wish her well :heart

Red team wins the '72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen'

NHK's year-end music programme 'The 72nd NHK Kohauku Uta Gassen" was broadcast live from Tokyo International Forum to close out 2021, and this year's winner was the red team.

This was the second consecutive year for the red team to win. With this, the red team has a total of 33 wins and the white team a total of 39 wins.

This year's 'Kohauku Uta Gassen' was held with the theme "Colourful." It was hosted by Oizumi Yo, Kawaguchi Haruna, and NHK announcer Wakuda Mayuko. It was also the first time in two years that the programme was held with an audience.
