Obi-less releases?
 

Mainly curious because I just don't know or remember for some releases.

I went through my physicals recently and found that for a few releases I don't have obis. For some that makes sense: a few years back I bought some second-hand releases off another user here and I seem to recall that for some he just didn't have obis anymore. No mystery there. For some of my own now I wonder though. What about A BEST and A BALLADS? (My versions of this are Taiwanese by the way: AVTCD 95461 and AVTCD 95676.) These come in a slipcase; perhaps they never had an obi at all?

I also just received a second-hand copy of Love songs, which also is in a slipcase. Does that also mean no obi?

And are there any others? (Or any at all?)

Slipcase are usually first press so the 2nd press Versions have OBIs
The 1st 8 singles have no OBI as they are 3" singles.
Also Fly high and kanariya have no Obi.
I think ayu-mi-x 1 till 3 also have no Obi

Thanks, that's very helpful already! And yes, good call, I have the 3" single of WHATEVER and indeed it is obiless (it could have a had very cut tiny obi, but alas!). Same for ayu-mi-x II version Non-Stop Mega Mix and ayu-mi-x III AOV, which don't have one either. ayu-mi-x for me does though. So versions of A BEST and A BALLADS with obi/without slipcase do exist? (I've only had my own forever so can't imagine them any different, haha)

Perhaps we can keep track of a master list in this thread. I only know of slipcases/no obis for the three releases I have that have then, perhaps there are more. I'll start the list below with the suggestions by ~angel*ayumi~, elaborate upon it as you wish:

H (over 1 million sales special version) has no OBI. (It is impossible to find the picture online now... I remember it has this edition and it is a paper box open up with all different version covers)

There is a picture which suggest an obi-like object but I guess it must be a flap from a plastic outer sleeve?

(I don't have this particular version myself so I honestly don't know.) (edit: a closer look indeed suggests plastic sleeve and glue :))

What about Boys & Girls?

Yes versions of A Best and A Ballads w/o slipcase but with a obi exist, I have them both, I also have I am... with short Obi, but all these are very rare xD

I was curious so I googled, I couldn't find even a picture of A BEST with obi (though it was a pretty cursory look, and perhaps it's just a white strip? that's the most obi-looking thing I found...) but I did find one of A BALLADS, looks cool:

Not sure what country these comes from, but they look fake.

I would only count Japanese as original version.

Found them through Googling so I can't speak for how genuine they are, but ~angel*ayumi~ sent a picture of their copy of A BEST on Discord and it's definitely genuine (and looks very cool).

Boys & Girls seems obi-less (see the post just above with the sealed copy).
