Ayumi and Akiko Wada collaboration
 

Akiko Wada was the guest on the episode of "ayuready?" to be broadcast on the 16th. Apparently Akiko has asked Ayu to write a song for her and Ayu promised to do so. This will be the first time Ayu has written a song for another singer.

I've yet to see 5, and I know that one of Ayu's new songs is at the end. I'd be interesting to see an Ayu song from another person (not counting people who've performed past Ayu songs).

well in the jpopmusic forum, i heard that Akiko is an old singer from the 70's. someone described her voice as manly, sounding like she smokes a lot.

I've heard of Akiko Wada only because she's been on Kohaku a million times or something like that.

Ah, sounds like she has an even deeper voice than Mika Nakashima then...something in style of Cher or even Toni Braxton perhaps? ;)

Ayu Ready is ayumi's tv show. she's the host. :)
And I saw akiko wada singing on TV not too long ago... she really does sound like a man! She's very talented and her voice is nice (that lady can SERIOUSLY sing, dude), but if you're not prepared for such a low voice to come out, then you kinda jump, lol :P

nmskalmn sent me an MP3 of Akiko and I was completely shocked at her voice. I really couldn't believe that it was a woman singing the song!!! I still can't believe it. It will be interesting to see her on AyuReady to see if she talks like a man too. :shrug
