Farewell/Goodbye Songs?

Hey guys,

I need everyones help :)

I'm living in Osaka, but unfortunately i'm being made to go home in just less then a month. I'm going to make a CD for my best friends here with some songs on it to remember me by.

What I'm looking for are kind of farewell songs, but ones that aren't neccesarily sad. And I'm not breaking up with anyone so they send the wrong kind of message XD

For example, I've already got Ayu's 'Replace', where she sings about instead of saying goodbye she's leaving this song and untill they day we can meet again keep on going without giving up, and when that day comes, meet me with your smile.

So while it's a farewell kind of song, it's not about a bad farewell. It's being positive.

If anyone knows anything similar I would love to hear from you here!

I need Japanese songs, as the CD is going to my Japanese friends.

And preferbly the meaning should be more like 'This is goodbye, but it's not the end' kind of thing, rather then 'this is goodbye forever'.

The lyrics to the Spice Girls song are:

"Goodbye my friend
It's not the end"

So it would be suitable. However, as you're only wanting Asian music, it isn't. I'll try and find some, although I don't speak Japanese, so the lyrics may be off totally. Shiina Ringo's 'Gibs' would be a good one, although it's more like, aimed to a lover. It's beautiful though, how she sings 'I want to be with you' in the main verse and all.

"Four Seasons" by Namie Amuro, but I think this and all the other ones I recall are about love relationships. :shrug

Mata Ashita, by Every Little Thing. I love that song... Or Sakura by Naotaro Moriyama... Or Watarasebashi covered by Aya Matsuura (it's a very beautiful ballad, not a pop song)... Or Final Distance, by Hikaru Utada? All those songs seem very good to me, very sort of "i'll miss you and i'll always think of you". They are all good, but Sakura really stuck out in my mind. My friend was in Japan when that song released, when she just got there, I believe, so that song will always be her song in Japan. It's so beautiful and lovely.... here are some translations!

i hope you find a song! :)

Rainy Days Never Stays by The Brillinant Green? :think
Is that a good bye song?

All the slow good songs I can think of are sort of lovey dovey.
For example:
You should put "I LOVE YOU" by Yutaka Ozaki. That song is a CLASSIC! Or the 'new' version from hikki.

Thanks everyone. 'mata ashita' and 'sakura' are perfect! While they're a bit lovey, the main point of them is 'it's not over, we'll meet again'. That's the feeling I get from them. And it's exactly what I was looking for. I have to admit, listening to the songs while reading the lyrics made me cry >_< I DONT WANT TO LEAVE DAMMIT lol.

I have a favour. I already have 'sakura' on his album, but while I also have 'mata ashita' on an album it's copy protected. Could somebody please upload it for me? Thankyou :)
