ayu in straits times article [Who will ascend the throne?]

This article was published in Singapore Straits Time papers on 18 Feb 2005. It seem to be more in favour of Ayu's album than Boa's. I'm not really sure about Boa not selling as well, is it true?

boA's album sales is not much better than Ayumi but i think both are very talented and popular !! Ayu is definitely more popular and more creative than BoA.

I don't like what they say about Ayu's lyrics. :-\

Me neither. I'd like them to find one pop star that writes better lyrics than her. Thanks for the article. :)

Laranel 19th February 2005 06:13 PM

Thanks for the article.

Cyria 19th February 2005 06:20 PM

Thanks for the article! I don't agree about the lyrics, but "trendsetting national treasure" sounds quite good.

JinHamasaki 19th February 2005 08:48 PM

Uh, Ayu's lyrics not poetic? o.o She's no Emily Dickinson but she is still great -_-.

And BoA's BEST OF SOUL did NOT sell 800,00 first week, it was actually 484,000 first week on Oricon -.-

y2687 19th February 2005 08:53 PM

I don't know why people keep insisting on saying that BoA is becoming better than Ayu. Sure she may be the "IT" thing at the moment for some, but she still has a lot to go thru and a lot to learn. They can't really compare her to Ayu's experience yet.

Good thing too, because Emily Dickinson is awful. Every one of her poems can be sung to the Gilligan's Island theme. Pick a different meter already!

That's total and utter bull about her lryics. :grumpy And pop-metal? I don't think I've ever even heard of pop-metal..

Thanks for the article though.

Kazuko 19th February 2005 10:57 PM

I think ayu is definitely greater than Boa. (no offence to Boa fans out there XD) Then again Ayu has much more experience =D and I, too, do not like what that article has to say about her lyrics =( wtf is pop metal?!! XD

Qt Mashi 19th February 2005 11:09 PM
