Ayumi and Thailand?
 

Appears that Ayu was appointed "ruby ambassador" by the Thai jewelry export association. I suppose this position exists to promote the jewelry industry as well as Thai/Japan relations.

I like that kind of look on Ayu! So chic :rolleyes . As for being an ambassador, I wonder if it's actually a position, or if it's more of a title (like being knighted in England doesn't really mean you're an armored knight), but it's cool that Ayu's getting more recognition :thumbsup

I tried to auto-translate it too, but I couldn't make much sense of it either. I don't like that pic of Ayu. Her hair is too blonde, and I dunno, it's just my taste.

Ayu arrived Bangkok on Tuesday night. The welcoming ceremony at the airport had to be cancelled due to too many people gathering to see Ayu. Last night Ayu was interviewed by a local TV station and she said that she would love to have a concert in Thailand. I don't know how long she will stay in Bangkok though. Today there will be an appearance of Ayu at some up-scale shopping mall in BKK and I expect a very large crowd of her fans presenting. For the Ruby Ambassador thing, all I know from watching last night's interviewed was that Ayu would be representing Thai Ruby in Japan's market. Ayu was appointed the Ambassador because she was an idol in Japan and many Japanese girls dress like her, therefore, they think using Ayu to promote the ruby would be a good way to expand the ruby market.

I just found out that Ayu will leave Bangkok on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. So, for Thai fans, please be there!

Thai singer in the picture is Pamela. Actually she's not that famous in Thailand. Don't know why she was there with Ayumi though. It should have been someone very very famous.

I also tried to find pics of Ayu while she was in Thailand but it seemed like there were no news of Ayu in any Thai papers...sorry guys. It looks like Thai press didn't give much attentions on Ayu and I hate that.
