Bet I won't be able to find this one anywhere either and have to order online which defeats its purpose -_-

//hikari 1st June 2005 08:54 PM

meh it's still going to flop

Coelacanth 1st June 2005 09:18 PM

Oh man, give it up Utada...

ohsixthirty 1st June 2005 09:22 PM

I don't know about flop...I don't know if it'll do that well, but I'm sure it will get some club play, its actually already being played around here a little and I know Devil Inside definitely got some club time as well.

Then again, I think Exodus 04 was one of the better songs on that album...so maybe it will do better. It HAS to do better than Easy Breezy I think...*shudder*

stardusties 1st June 2005 09:43 PM

Meh...No one in the states really cares for remix albums or singles...cept for clubs..but thats basically it :\ ....Utada should just spend some time writing songs then putting together something like Exodus...

Blah...she should have at least had a better album picture...It's almost as bad as her First Love one -twitch- ....Not hating her or anything..I love Utadas music but this was her chance to get as popular as she was before and she failed to do that really.

Still looking forward to the remixes, but I agree with you on that one.

I kinda admire Utada for not giving up... I dont think nothing big will happen though...

Every Heart <3 1st June 2005 10:50 PM

I'm sure this group of remixes will fail just like the horrible songs they originated from. :rolleyes

I wish Hikki would go back to Japan and start releasing her good stuff again and quit with this "Hip Hop R&B" crap she's doing now.

I agree... Although I like hip hop adn R & B a little bit, I believe that Hikki should go back to her original work and try it here... If she doesn't succeed, then stay where you are.

But she succeed with her american album! :yes It sold a lot in Japan, to start with. ;) I don't think EXODUS was crap, the only problem I have with the album was her shaking/trembling voice, as if she were scared/insecure to sing the songs in english. But the rrangements and compositions were rich. However, the remixes of Exodus '04 weren't really that impressive in my opinion. They can't even be compared to the "Richard Vission" fantastic and awasome remixes of devil inside.

MsMiyabi 2nd June 2005 02:37 AM

I think she should have the orignal version on the single. Do a video and feature timberland in it. With him in the video is can get played alot.

shinji1698 2nd June 2005 03:04 AM

yay utada your song is only a year late! :rolleyes

I'll bet a big part of the reason why that album sold well in Japan was because of Hikki's pre existing popularity and fan base, if it weren't for that the album probably wouldn't have sold as well.
That is all moot anyway because the fact it didn't sell well in the states is what proved the album failed since, after all, the whole point of the album was "Hikki's american debut" And since it didn't do well in america the album failed.

Personally, I didn't like the songs on the album mainly because of the disappointing vocals that either had the wrong pitch, weren't on key, or a combination of the two. Which is completely unaccectable from an artist like Hikki who can sing well and has released good albums before, she isn't an artist like britney spears who's career is based off the ignorance and bad taste of others and not say, actual singing ability and talent so she shouldn't be singing like one of those artists.
Also, in many of the songs the music was so poorly composed it almost completely drowned Hikki singing and you had to strain to hear any of the lyrics which made the songs very annoying to listen to.

By the way, all of this is just my opinion and none of this is meant to offend people who did like that album.

MariachiGurl2005 2nd June 2005 03:55 AM

I hope she'll do fine with her remix album... that's a big hope :think

Nu-NRG 2nd June 2005 04:22 AM

she can be A.) go back to Japan and release some more Jpop stuff or B.) be like any other crap artist in the US now..and keep on releasing craps...till she get notice which I think it can happen.....say a year or two like those big stars who was once a biggest flop out there to on top of the chart :)

Well we have to give her a discount because she isn't particularly 100% fluent at speaking english (she still seems to have a hard time pronunciating certain words, plus by her interviews on radio you can tell she's actually very insecure when speaking english, her voice shakes and she sounds nervous). Okay that EXODUS wasn't actually her first english album (she already had CUBIC U) but well, she is improving I guess. Some of the songs have rather rich melodies like Hotel Lobby, I think that song was really well elaborated, gets a little spoiled by the weird vocals but the overall composition/arrangements and how the song turned out to be were actually pretty good. Other songs seem to have repeated or simple melodies, but they're actually what overall the songs needed in my opinion, like the march-like style of Animato, I think it went perfect with the song overall. The album actually continues the mysterious part that most of the Depp River songs had. I dunno, I like albums that makes images flash into my head, and a lot of songs in EXODUS do it. :yes I really find it sad that the album is not sold in local stores where I live because I would definitely buy it.

Yeah, I think Hikki's Exodus album is something you either love or hate. (I've never heard anyone say they had neutral views about the album)
I really hope she goes back to the type of music she sung before, though. I liked her Deep River album alot and she had quite a few other songs I liked too and then when her american album got released I was really disapointed with the style of music and songs.

I really do wish her the best with her work in the states though. I just hope she doesn't lose her individuality and become sleazy and nasty like so many other female artists are in this country.

*raises hand*

I do actually. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I think some songs are pretty good on the album, but others I don't think are that great. I mean, I like it more than dislike it, but I'm pretty neutral on it as a whole.

I've never seen anyone who said that before. :laugh

Everyone was either "it's a wonderful album" or "it completely sucks, boo!".
