Another Hikki/Ayu Showdown?
 

Could history repeat itself with the infamous ABEST/Distance battle? Since both artists are releasing movie theme-song singles, it could be likely that it could be another battle of HEAVEN/Be My Last. But all in good nature of course. It would be nice to see Utada come out of hiding ... or maybe even recover from "Exodus." Who knows. I hear she's trying to break the UK market. Hope she has as much success there as she did in the US ... =___='
None of this is official, just speculations. And you wonder how rumors start ... heh.

What movie is Be My last for? And I'm sure she'll beat Ayu with that new Kingdom Hearts song. :(

Well it has been a good 17 months since Hikki has been in the Japan music scenes. "Be My Last" will be on "Haru no yuki" which will come out on October 29th. The movie is directed by Isao Yukisada. Hopefully she will come back with a bang ... and have better news to share to her fans on her site than "I went to the dentist today."

oh so "be my last" is just for a drama, movie theme songs are usually bigger

but Utada's new single is long waited by a lot of people :(

I'd expect Hikki to sell better honestly. But that doesn't matter much, because I adore hikki too^^

The UK rumore probably has to do with many of her latest remix singles, one being released for UK.

I actually like reading her real blog though, and shows what a crazy and sneaky girl she is. hehe

But TV dramas do have the advantage of more mass exposure and greater frequency than movies.

well...its not really a battle since its on different release dates. i think ayu's on 9.21, while hikki's on 9.28. if they were on the same release dates, then this would b huge! ayu's gonna b #1 on the 1st week, then hikki will b #1 the next.

as for sales, i'd guess AFTER i hear both HEAVEN n Be my Last in full version. i'd also c how ayu is doing w/fairyland 1st, b4 i make the guess.

I really don't mind of this Hikki. Win over Ayu or not. I'm still prefering Ayu's music.

The fact that Hikki hasn't released anything for a while will work in her advantage I think...
Still, Heaven is a beautiful song (from what I've heard) and I think it will do great :)

well my thougts about this is that hikki´s song will reach more of the europeans and americans cause it´s in a very popular game but when it comes to potential then Heaven is gonna beat it :P

Why does everything have to be a competition? They're not even the same genre. :yrolleyes

I'm happy the songs will be released a week apart because I don't like the thought of a showdown. Neither of these two deserves to be a 'loser'.

at the end, distance has beaten A Best.. but A Best got the #1 position on the charts

From what I hear, she isn't exactly recovering from Exodus. Hikki's crap album did well in Japan and so did her singles. I'm afraid that Ayu might have more competition than we think. >,< I hope HEAVEN kills Be My Last no matter how good it is.
