I'm going to say the TK era, it was the most influential. Almost every song on 181920 is a classic. I do love her new hip hop style too, but it doesn't really compare to her really old stuff. As for the R&B era, I don't like too many songs from that era, definitely her worst.

SUITE CHIC Hip Hop Style love all her works but her new things I can't stop listening to.

ssj_montse 26th August 2005 06:26 AM

90's TK POP 1995~1997... No doubt, for me is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! And then the comeback era, I love many songs from those periods.

Peachilicious 26th August 2005 10:59 AM

Definitely the Suite Chic Hip Hop (or Pop) Style for me... although I do like a lot of the songs from the Comeback period (like Love 2000, my first Namie song which I still love). What I would love the most though is another Suite Chic album. :D

This is how I'd rank the eras:

1. Comeback R&B 1998~2002
2. 90's TK POP 1995~1997
3. SUITE CHIC Hip Hop Style 2002~now

Hip pop style.

Completely agree. I love her dance-eurobeat works. She was at the peak of her success, almost as popular as Ayu is today. It's my favourite by far. The R&B-popish era was plain boring but you had some awesome singles such as PLEASE SMILE AGAIN, NEVER END and RESPECT THE POWER OF LOVE. I like her new R&B-Hip Popish style... it suits her well. But to me it dosen't compare to her days when she was produced by TK. When Avex was just a wannabe record label with only techno/dance/eurobeat artists (Namie, globe, ELT, hitomi).

Absolutely right. In the middle of 90s she was a superstar, and today she's far from her success with TK at the beginning of her career.

I love her songs from the TK era. Not that don't love her songs now, but her TK era was the best.

Calico 26th August 2005 09:46 PM

Dangit, I meant to vote for "now", but I hit "comeback" instead.

I like all of her eras, although probably "now" the most. Mostly because that's what I first started listening to, and I think that the style just suits her more.

For me it would be:

1. Comeback R&B 1998~2002
2. 90's TK POP 1995~1997
3. SUITE CHIC Hip Hop Style 2002~now

I really like her GENIUS 2000 album. ^O^

jerms 26th August 2005 10:41 PM

i voted for "come back r/b" only caues i like the songs you listed the most. i have no idea what that means though, cause i don't really look into namie, just have a few songs and her dvd.

Teh Rii-Sama 27th August 2005 05:01 AM

I'm glued to the TK era. XD "Stop the Music" and "Dreaming I was Dreaming" = <3

Mad_Cactuar 27th August 2005 05:03 AM

hehe I dont really know her, I know she called Ayu a Make Up Monster or something like that... I heard her song Girlfight though.. It sounded like a Missy elliot song...

completely agree with all that ^_^ Genuis 2000 is still my absolute favorite CD of hers.

I love all of Namie's music... but I don't think her stuff now compares to her stuff from back in the day....

leafyamazaki 28th August 2005 07:37 AM

I became a fan during her 'Comeback R&B' "era" so that ranks no.1 to me.

marty518 28th August 2005 04:25 PM

I've only been a fan since Fall 2004 (I met a girl at college who loved her), and that was during the last era. The first songs I heard of hers were "the SPEED STAR" and "Alarm," and I loved them both from the first time I heard them!! Her new stuff is much more original than the cheesy pop songs she used to release.
I think if Namie could sing perfect English, her songs would be popular in America. I think the same with Koda Kumi.

Cyria 28th August 2005 09:31 PM

SUITE CHIC Hip Hop. The other two eras have great songs but they also have songs I just can't stand, so in the end I chose her current era since the albums have fewer tracks I skip when I'm listening to them.

† Lynn † 30th August 2005 02:31 AM

hip hop style definetly!!!
she's perfect singing^~
