Arrangement for HEAVEN?

Is it me or does it sound like H/\L did it? o.o they always manage to (well, with recent releases, like Kaleidoscope and is this LOVE?) have a hollow sound with their notes, like at the beginning of Heaven...

Own ideas?

Coelacanth 31st August 2005 01:50 AM

Yeah, I think H/\L definitely arranged it..

elepop 31st August 2005 02:41 AM

It sounds nothing like HAL. HAL does the same old arrangements all the time.

Aren't the arrangements from the guy who did "SURREAL"?

Coelacanth 31st August 2005 02:48 AM

Well, it's official that Kazuhito Kikuchi composed it. But I would assume there would be a different arranger.

kristen 31st August 2005 02:49 AM

I actually meant Arrangement, but for some reason i typed composition.. gomen ne for confusion x.x

Nu-NRG 31st August 2005 02:55 AM

hmm...
maybebe H/\L did arrange this afterall..and Kikuchi compose this :D

kristen 31st August 2005 02:57 AM

the music just sounds so... Hal-esque, haha

evolution7931 31st August 2005 02:59 AM

What exactly is "arrangement" anyway?

kristen 31st August 2005 03:00 AM

the instruments selected for a song is the arrangement, i believe o.o

evolution7931 31st August 2005 03:01 AM

Oh is it? I thought that'd be the composers job =\

Mad_Cactuar 31st August 2005 03:01 AM

wow, HEAVEN sounds so good that it might be a CREA or HAL composition!!

evolution7931 31st August 2005 03:03 AM

I'm confused. When Ayu writes a song, do they give her the music and tell her to write lyrics, or does she write the lyrics and then they make the music? =\

kristen 31st August 2005 03:03 AM

the way i understand it, the composer does the music rhythm; like how the song will sound. then a person comes in and picks and chooses which instruments will do what and what parts; that's the arranger. But i'm not sure so someone correct me if i'm wrong.

it sounds like kaleidoscope imo.

and darn me, i forgot where i read it but i could have sworn i read somewhere that it actually was H/\L. i'm prettty sure..but i could be wrong.

kristen 31st August 2005 03:18 AM

Kaleidoscope and is this LOVE? both have those parts where the notes have an echo-like quality to them. is this LOVE?'s is in the beginning and Kaleidoscope's is throughout the song. The opening of HEAVEN reminds me a lot of them so i assume it's H/\L, though it's always possible for someone else to do it. I kind of view the echo-ness as a H/\L trademark tho :D

Composer makes the music or sumthin lke that and I think Arrangements are which parts of the music goes where.

Im kinda wondering myself if ayu writes the lyrics and then give it to the pplz and then make music or the other way around but if this is HALs work then I love HAL even more! :love

kristen 31st August 2005 03:20 AM

I would assume the music is made first then ayu writes the lyrics... so that way she can count syllables and make sure everything pans out to perfection.

I kinda thought that too but I also thought that the composers and arrangers would then find different and various for the words to fit in to make more of a choice.

Lyricist: writes lyrics
Composer: Arranges notes for lyrics (like how it's sung)
Arranger: Chooses instruments and their place

Ayu writes her own lyrics, but she doesn't always compose...that's when she's CREA. As CREA she controls the notes of the song, her first being M. In that case she was the one who controlled the beat and pitch of the song. Sometimes she collaborates, like with HAL or DAI.

I hope that made sense. =\

Edit: The way I would see it, lyrics are almost always written first. You can still count syllables that way for when the composer comes in. When I write a song, I usually do it that way. But I could be wrong on Ayu's part. *shrug*

nevermind, it was fairyland that i read was arranged by hal. my bad.
