WONDERLAND

whats the deal with this song...how come its so scary sounding? is it supposed to set a mood for the album...or i dunno.. the guy laughing at the end is freaky...

s.k.y 14th September 2005 02:31 AM

lol, i wonder as well. I think WONDERLAND was a total waste of space, but heck, just my opinion :P

orenji_jaro 14th September 2005 04:05 AM

i think uhm as i imagined it... ^^
it would be like ayu riding in the carousel [like the one in the CAROLS video]
then sudenly the trees started burning and then everything in the video [or whatever im thinking] will be like bruning and clowns will appear... it would be like a disastrous carnivale... T____T eh... evil..... T____T

AyuRlz 14th September 2005 04:09 AM

i just hated the laughing parts.. seems creepy

ph33r 14th September 2005 05:45 AM

It's a weird song...I think..
but it's a brilliant composition by Ayu nonetheless

tl1029530921 14th September 2005 05:58 AM

i would've LOVED a clip for that song..so many possibilities...

but its a very cool song i think. I'm sure it didnt take that long to compose. The carnival-y sound is common..the special thing is how it turns evil..heh

DA1SUK1DAY01691 14th September 2005 07:05 AM

it's a dream.... she's in a dream, and then she slowly drifts into a nightmare... So it's like she was at a carnival, fun by day, weird at night!

CAROLS merry-go-round + alterna clowns = WONDERLAND clip

Ayumi no Yume 14th September 2005 07:31 AM

Whn i listen to it i feel like i'm at the carnival...and someone's watching me...STUPID KNOTTS SCARY FARM!!
I went into the clown thingy....big mistake...

o.o..........you just scared me of ever listening to that song again...XD

Delirium-Zer0 14th September 2005 07:47 AM

I really like the song as well, I don't understand why anyone would think it's a waste of space. Even just being music & sound effects, it's VERY poetic. It says alot without verbally saying anything. Just look at the images it put in everyone's heads... I think it and the alterna PV had exactly the same plot actually.

benslave4u 14th September 2005 08:05 AM

I always wonder about that I think it has something to do with ayu's childhood but then I might be wrong!!

Delirium-Zer0 14th September 2005 08:34 AM

nah... going into a singing career, once she decided it might be something she liked, might have looked like salvation from a very counterproductive lifestyle. She didn't have a very good childhood or teen years at all. the change was from scary to happy, not the other way around. If it DOES have to do with her childhood, it might be her expectations of eventually seeing her father again, thinking everything's fine... and then the slow realization that he WASN'T really going on a business trip at all, and he was never coming back.

it MAY jus be a song w/o lyrics only to lengthen the album... ??

DA1SUK1DAY01691 14th September 2005 10:48 AM

but for an interlude, this piece is really deep... It's amazing how she can put feelings even into a noverbal interlude...

ruixiong89 14th September 2005 10:52 AM

Well, if you look at MY STORY

1. Starts off Rockish and Hyped Up
2. WONDERLAND marks the subsiding of the hype and into something more serious and emotional
3. Start of "Pain of Love" Songs
4. Ballads
5. Kaleidoscope marks the start of second hype
6. Hyped Up songs with gradual transition to more smoothing and relaxing tunes (Replace, winding road)
7. Ended off with a BASH! (Humming 7/4: which is an equivalent of "+" (more than) in RAINBOW, flower garden in I am ... and girlish in DUTY)

The interludes are not for no reason. They basically mark the transition of the moods and actually help to people to appreciate the album as an ENTIRE FULL COMPLETE album instead of an album as just a compilation of songs.

WONDERLAND does serve this purpose and I think it's really great! It just paints this picture in your mind instantly and I think that's where it succeeds! I hoped they made a video for this in her ARENA TOUR but nope ... there wasn't so I'm DISAPPOINTED to a certain extent!

The album is 17 tracks. It was already really long. WONDERLAND is in there because Ayu thought it was important enough to include. I personally really like it. As others have said, it puts images in your head without using words and the message is pretty obvious - the end of innocence. It also segues nicely into Liar, Hope or Pain, and Happy Ending which have always made me think of carnivals too when I listen to them for some reason. I think those four songs were meant to be placed together.

o_O thats true..never noticed it..thanks for pointing that out

Mad_Cactuar 14th September 2005 04:13 PM

wonderland served as some kind of partition between sections of the album! I love it, S.K.Y. its not a waste, its short, and anything Ayu makes is gold :laugh!! I love Wonderland, really creepy! Reminds me of how some good happenings can turn into nightmares..

yeah, maybe shewanted us to picture it ourselves, because it is easier to picture than other interludes

Jennie Mae 14th September 2005 06:16 PM

WONDERLAND is so awesome, it's probably my favorite Ayu interlude ever. It's just perfect, it doesn't need words at all, it explains itself. Plus, it was written by CREA, so it's even better.
