Pre-Avex??
 

ok, so Ayu has her pre-avex album Nothing from Nothing. but i was thinking... she was "discovered" by Max Matsuura of Avex... so how did she have a pre-avex single?? If anyone knows, i would love to know! thanks! ^^

She just wanted to get famous I guess... So she got to make the pre-avex album and single. But the record company (I read that somewhere, but not 100% reliable) said she would never be a big star so she was rejected there.. Then she was at a karaoke-bar, met Max, made her avex debut and became the absolute queen xD

This thorough page at Ayu's Wonderland shows that Max "discovered" her a year or two her after the Nothing from Nothing debut. So his was more of a "rediscovery".

(You could argue the album's sales were so low that it didn't count - it certainly didn't make her a star).
