So.. can anyone explain what went on there... really confused and when I first listened to Papillon I was like

"GAH I HEARD THIS BEFORE WHERE OMFG OMZGOMFOMGGGFFFFFssss"

And then a friend mentioned that Papillon sounded exactly like Doesn't Really Matter

Can anyone enlighten me!

Hitomi Shimatani is well known for doing japanese versions of songs from other languages or making covers of songs. She's not copying thogh.

Yup, Hitomi just did a Japanese cover of "Doesn't Really Matter". :yes

ah. It's rather similar to the one done by Janet Jackson, though Shimatani has her own style too.

ah, i remember i first heard that when ayu sang it with her on ayuready and i was like...heeeey, i recognize that! it took me a sec to realize it sounded like the janet song. :)

And she has a more comfortable voice IMO. And I never liked how janet's mumbeling the text in the original. Both are good songs though.

"Amairo no Kami Otome" is another cover.. the actual song is a country styled song... and guys sing it.. "Village Singers" I think they were or something...
Also some other song from the first album is a cover.
