[2005] Bold & Delicious - what do u think about this song?

I know full version of this song wasn't released yet but I'm curious what's r ur first thoughts about this song from preview listening?

First of all I'm surprising because I supposed Bold & Delicious will be UP-BEAT song and in reality it's GOSPEL!!! :thud

AYU's singing sounds well but this choir part is strange. Besides new track sound americanish and commercial for me. I think it was misunderstanding that Avex start to co-working with western composers - it's not the same AYU which we know and love. Maybe they want to start promoting AYU in USA? :eyebrow

Mad_Cactuar 5th November 2005 03:37 PM

I think its amazing for the new style. This experimentation with genres will bring Ayu to a new peak in her career I say! The choir adds some nice feeling to it, like Ayu is being cheered and she is commanding the crowd to sing with her!

If they start promoting Ayu in USA I will scream.

I say this song feels like Gospel-Pop-R&B

nanami606 5th November 2005 03:40 PM

for me, it sucked. I don't like that genre. and that gospel choir was hell annoying. I hope Ayu won't stick with this style. it's nice to try new things once in a while.

ohsixthirty 5th November 2005 03:41 PM

hey, is this the song that was composed with the same person that composed for Ace of Base or was that Pride???

Qt Mashi 5th November 2005 03:42 PM

i relli liked the way this sing surprised me, i think it's relli good, i;ve never heard Ayu singing like this and the music is soo different!

but i dun like it how the background singers sang the words "B&D" and hopefully Ayu won't sing it in the full version XD hard to imagine hehe

and yeah i dun relli like it how theres more background singing than Ayu singing so i think i will definately like the full version better because the song won't have background vocals all the way through

yup this song will definately stand out just like STEP you!

i dont think they are trying to promote Ayu to US o_O

Mad_Cactuar 5th November 2005 03:45 PM

Oh yeah, is this song composed by that S.H.E composer? O___O I think it is, isnt it? Weird, S.H.E never sang stuff like this. Maybe the composer had no confidence in S.H.E and kept his masterpieces for Ayu!!! :luv2

That's how I feel, it's not a favourite genre of mine too. It sounds too much like the stuff here, which everyone-and-their-mother is trying to sound like. I don't mind Ayu trying new things, because when some work they work very well. This for me doesn't work, and I hope she's going to continue with her unique style instead of getting bogged down in one stereo-typical genre, because I like the way each track is a bit different :yes

:roflmao

I like the song alot! :shimmy
As much as I want Ayu to come to the U.S. I don't think she is but that would be great if she did though. ^_^

Mad_Cactuar 5th November 2005 03:53 PM

well, you cant say she's getting bogged down in one stereotypical genre since she released nothing like this earlier. Plus Will and Alterna was something totally different too! Each of the singles do a 180 degrees from each other! :luv2 I think we should wait for the full song to hit before making a final judgement though, cant wait for it! Radio rip should be out soon! :luv2

yep, Amy, I dont want another Exodus fiasco involving Ayu..

Annabelle 5th November 2005 03:58 PM

I don't like it. When I thought fairyland was the worst Ayu song of 2005... Gospel-R&B dosen't fit Ayu at all. Her next album surely won't be part of my Christmas order if Pride and all the album tracks sound like B&D.

Lumix 5th November 2005 03:58 PM

After few times listening, I think I will like that song. But still, those weird voices sux!

Raleigh 5th November 2005 03:59 PM

I was very very surprised. I never expected this style to be used by Ayu. Sounded odd at first but it's kinda addicting though. Hitomi Shimatani tried Gospel once with "Glorious Days" and it was a really fun song.

I like this trend. First she did rock, then techno-pop mixed, then ballads and now gospel. Much better than last year which had two ballad singles and one rock song. More variety and gets people interested. It was like she was stuck in the same style and themes last year but this year seems more varied and interesting.

Many artists have this tendency to get stuck into a routine which is fine for a couple of years but ends up getting really boring in the end when it goes on and on. So I think this genre was a good choice.

I'm just concerned that she could do more tracks like this, and end up in one stereo-typical genre, which wouldn't be a good thing. I will wait and hear the full version, but it's a genre that doesn't appeal to me in any way, so I'm not really interested in this track, and I probably won't get the single because most likely both tracks and the PV/s will be on the album.

Mad_Cactuar 5th November 2005 04:02 PM

^ Oh, ok. I hope she doesnt get stuck I one genre like Western artistes usually are. I love her adventurous attitude! But be warned though, if B&D does very well, she would surely make more gospel goodies.. XD Sounds like Destiny's Child eh? Or James Brown..

Yeah exactly... :shakehead

Raleigh 5th November 2005 04:08 PM

Nope she won't get bogged with gospel. I think she learnt that with rock. Since Memorial Address she has released wayy too many rock releases onto albums.. two tracks in the mini album and a ton of rock songs onto MY STORY which ended up with not pleasing other fans who did not like rock so much.

Same goes with RAINBOW. When the pop theme was constanly vibrating from that album people got disappointed.

The secret of Ayu is her variety and that's why I'm pleased with B&D

Yes, that's it - she'd become too much like the artists we have here, where every track is the same. Hmm, if this song does well and she makes a lot more like this I might loose interest in her, as it's not a genre that I care for and I couldn't stand listening to a lot more of it. It doesn't really sound like Destiny's Child to me, as Ayu is more talented, it would seem like there's more than just a programmed beat repeated over and over in B&D, which might make it better than any Destiny's Child track.

*Auralie* 5th November 2005 04:09 PM

well... its very unlike AYU but I kinda like it ^^

Mad_Cactuar 5th November 2005 04:10 PM

I love your ava, Demure Dusk! Isnt that from Ayu's Panasonic thingy with Rainbow advertisement?
Yes, the secret of Ayu's success is her variety and that's why I'm pleased with B&D!
Time to sleep, 12:10 AM here!!! Good night!!

Yup, the same - but it doesn't mean it will be good for AYU :rolleyes
She should composing song by herself - she's really good with it and she proofe it at I am... album. Also I don't have nothing against composers whos working with AYU in last years but I think about japanese composers - not american. American composers mostly working for many popular artist at the same time what fructify making of commercial songs. I don't want to AYU start to be one of those commercial "artist" :no
