Ayu's lyrics

well i'm new to Ayu so i don't know so much...

I read somewhere that if ayu can't fit the lyrics into a song she lets someone else write and finish her lyrics? is this true? :(

Neo Daydream 6th December 2005 10:09 PM

i don't think so... Ayu's pretty creative... and she has written all her lyrics... except RAINBOW which is lyrics sent in by fans...

Sweer 6th December 2005 10:16 PM

I really doubt that.
for as far as I know she has written all her lyrics herself (except for the above mentioned RAINBOW)

hanabiwings 6th December 2005 10:49 PM

Even RAINBOW was written by the artist herself. She merely collected the impressions of thousands of fans and used them when penning the lyrics as though collaborating with all of them (she read them all, as she stated on MUSIC FAIR 21 in 2003).

this brings up a thought I've had for a while.
- I've always loved Ayu's lyrics for their deep meaning and reasonable statements. But has any1 ever thought that she may be using other people's work? Now I'm not saying Ayu is a copy-cat, it's just a possibility, because many big-shot celebs/creative people use other people's work and their own image to be famous. A person I know gets paid for writing the script for a famous movie writer but at the end his name does not show up in the credits. I guess it's how the world works nowadays.
Could this apply to AYu?

She doesn't have a ghostwriter, if that's what you're asking. The only lyrics Ayumi has help with are the ones in English (she had 3 translators for the work on the RAINBOW album). She has also alluded to some help for what to write about and picking the English names for the titles.

Though it doesn't actually work sometimes for titles *cough my names WOMEN* *cough Greatful Days*

fεяnαndδ 7th December 2005 05:01 AM

my name's WOMEN makes sense. She's representing women and standing up for their rights. In no way to me is the title grammatically incorrect.

Greatful days was an intentional error.

DA1SUK1DAY01691 7th December 2005 06:22 AM

I have a feeling she writes the lyrics first, then chooses the correct feel that she wants. I don't think she writes to the melody.

RAISKA 7th December 2005 07:01 AM

wha? No, no, Ayu writes herself...except "Memorial adress", right? It was written by another person.

Keishi 7th December 2005 09:12 AM

yea, memorial address was sung by another singer...and then ayu rewrite them and change the song composition...

ohsixthirty 7th December 2005 03:05 PM

yep, ayu writes all her lyrics. i really don't see her having someone else do it for her.

There's actually one song that appears on "A Ballads" that wasn't written by her, "Sotsugyou Shashin".
Also, on her single "Love ~Destiny~", the song "Love ~since1999~" was written by Tsunku.

someone else composes the melody^^ not ayu but ayu always writes her own lyrics! shes quite creative dat way^^also, memorial address was originally someone elses song but she reworte the lyrics and gave the song a completely different feel. also, dats y its called memorial address take two

All I know is that.. Ayu's strongest talent is on her writing lyrics...
her lyrics are always meaningful.. *some ppl told me that Ayu is no longer famous nowadays coz of her "crap" lyrics which don't have any meaning at all...* but as I read her lyrics.. which are also being helped by my friend who also a big fan of Ayu... her lyrics are powerful!!!!
*maybe that ppl only hate Ayu or love another artist said that crap thing..*

Although intentional, they were still errors, and they still validate my point that English title translators aren't correct all of the time. There's no proof that my names WOMEN wasn't just an error either, though it would be quite a big slip up if it wasn't..

AyUmIXx 11th December 2005 10:24 AM

my name's WOMEN is not really a wrong words....
though the title has a full meaning of girl/woman power....
don't you think so?

*do you know a song called "your body is a wonderland"...it's an english song..see? American ppl also makes weird title..but if you know the meaning..you'll understand....*

ummm i dont think so, i remembered Ayu saying that after she finishes the lyrics the composer then composes the song for her and then she make changes to the lyrics herself to make it sound better

shadow*puppet 13th December 2005 07:49 PM

thanks everyone for your replies :) sorry i've been late coming back to this... but i was pretty busy for the past week... schoolwork and stuff.

Just to reply to one of the posts... my name's WOMEN is intentional. here's part of the chorus:

We don't cry easily
We are not always coquettish
We are not dolls
Who are only dressed-up

We have our weak sides
We are not always smiling
Don't forget
That we don't exist to be convenient for you

the song moves from "I" to "we" so yeah i agree with winterkill when he says ayu wants to represent all women... :) ayu wants to be the voice of all women so the title "my name's WOMEN"... and the word is capitalized to set it apart. so it's not an error... a title like "my name's WOMAN" would not fit the lyrics in my opinion

AyuGAME 14th December 2005 12:49 AM

no way...her lyrics is really original
