My first CD was probably Robert Miles - Children back in 1998.

I don't recall what my first DVD was though...

I don't remember what cd that was the first I bought before I started to listen to j-pop was.... But the first j-pop cd was I am... and LOVEppears by ayumi!!!

I don't think the poster is specifically asking J-pop, since the one he listed isn't.

Mine was "The Lion King" OST back in 1994.
First DVD would be Sammi Cheng's "Sammi i Concert Live 99".

As for Japanese releases, it'd be "LOVEppears", "A song for XX", SPEED's "Carry On My Way" and GLAY's "HEAVY GAUGE" simultaneously.

My first CD was the duet of Youssou N'Dour and Neneh Cherry, 7 Seconds. My first two DVDs (bought them at the same time) were Reservoir Dogs and The Dark Crystal.

hmmm I can hardly remember that I dunno whether it was "Bran Van 3000"'s "Glee" or the first album of the "Black Eyed Peas" (back in the days without Fergie).

The first CD I remember buying was Christina Aguilera's first album. First J-pop was Ai Otsuka's "LOVE PUNCH" and "LOVE JAM" CD+DVD, together. Aaand, I think my first DVD was Friday the 13th part 3-D.

My first CD was Avril Lavigne's Let go. My first J-Pop CD was Ayumi's A single! :D

When I think about it never bought anything original......
