Ayumi thanking family...?

Did anyone else notice that in the booklet for (miss) understood, Ayumi says a thank you to "my family and my honey?" I was under the impression that the only family she has is her mother...but if she meant just her mother I'd think she'd just say "thanks to my mother." So, I wonder who she's including in family? Anyone have any good ideas? :cool

(I hope this goes in the chatroom...I didn't really think of it as an enquiry so I wasn't sure.)

Maybe her cousins:)and her grandmother...if she's still alive:laugh

Her grandmother died JUST before the recording of Poker Face. This message is in all booklets of Ayu I think. We know nothing about Ayu's mother. Only that she has a flower and jewerly shop in Japan and we have a few pictures of her. We also have a picture of Ayu's grandmother somewhere in an old magazine. She said her dad left her and her mother when she was young. For all we know she already searched for him and found him. She has the money and power to do that you know. Her family obviously doesn't want to be known that much. Because of this I believe Ayu has many more relatives we don't know about.

No, someone found a video of an a-nation thing and Ayu was walking with her mother. She even introduced her.

N0pe, you're wrong. I WAS the one who posted it :P But we found out she said she was LIKE a mother to her.. It wasn't her mother; it was an artist.

You were? Oh. O_o Wow!!11

Tasked 4th January 2006 07:17 PM

yup :p sorry.. so other than a few child photo's of Ayu and the photo of her mother at HeyHeyHey; we have no videos or photos of her.. and no current ones at all... So Ayu is pretty much hiding her family.

Ah you're right.. =) she turned soft since 2004 xD

She hated talking about her family, it was a very painful subject to her in the past (she always said that in interviews).

She says her mom wasn't maternal at all, she wasn't very present and Ayu was usually alone.

Of her grandmother, she said she was 'her favorite family member'. She never treated Ayu really well, but she was the one who feed her and when she told her grandmother she was going to Tokyo her grandmother was almost dead and she couldn't talk or anything like this, but she cried. And then, when she came back to her city, her grandmother was dead =(.

But yes, Ayu mother wasn't a good mother, in my opinion. But she wasn't worse than Ayu dad.

hahaha! ayu is so mushy you know! :yes

wonder what changed though to make her suddenly include "my family" then?

I never read anything about Ayu's mother beeing a bad mother. Ayu said her mother and her are still very close, and she calls her "mommy" and got her a jewerly+flower shop. This wouldn't indicate her beeing a bad mother. She was, however, closer to her grandmother.

I think she wants to seperate her life from her family...mostly because she's selling her music and not her family. You know? Kinda like Utada saying "I don't want to expose myself to get into the music industry" 'cause artists like Jessica Simpson's past album got famous for exposing a reality of her life. (including her sister ashlee)

I guess from "MY STORY" that era on she realized that actually the family is important after all too...

She mentioned in lots of interviews that her mother wasn't present during her childhood, she was very lonely and her mother wasn't maternal at all and didn't take care of her, leaving responsability for her grandmother. Her grandmas was the one who was ALWAYS taking care of her, actually, that's something VERY common on Japan, grandfathers being the one who take care of their grandsons. She didn't said her mother was a bad mother, that was my opinion.

her family as in her dad, mother and grandmother, maybe she thanksed them because they made her stronger. If her dad didn't leave her she probably couldn't have made such beautiful lyrics.

and her dogs are probably part ofher family now :P

Brittany 5th January 2006 03:45 AM

It's true that once people pass their childhood, they begin to see their parents in a different light (sometimes).

When you think about it, Ayu's mother was probably out working to support her daughter and Ayu's grandma. It's very common for grandparents to live with their daughters or sons.

I think Ayu has forgiven them, and therefore is, thanking them. She could of had it a lot worse, but she has the heart to forgive.

Oh yeah, I think "my honey" is Tomoya Nagase XD

Kikaru 5th January 2006 03:56 AM

I'm pretty sure her "honey" is Tomoya Nagase. I think that's sweet.
I think the whole thing with her mother...well, as a child, her mother wouldn't seem to be so good because a child likes to be pampered by her mother and such. But as she grew up, I think she saw her mom as a more of a "friend" than a mother, and still is.

But come to think of it, if she had a perfect family, there's probably no "ayumi Hamasaki, the Jpop Queen" today.

I'm guessing THAT means he's the subject of 'HONEY'. Right before the chorus, she says "My honey...".

Keishi 5th January 2006 08:30 AM

I believe "My family" means all the ppl who has work with her....she considered them as family...IMHO
