[2006] Be Honest About Amuro

I know their are many Namie fans here and I know there are people who don't like her. But I just wanna know do u guys respect her as a Artist? This thread is for the people who don't like her as well.

Keishi 9th January 2006 12:55 PM

hmm...I've been listening to her from the last december...and WoWa + Want Me Want Me is on repeat on my iTunes....(which means I'm addicted)
but she's not the best,...well, I mean not my cup of tea....her ballads are no good but her hip-pop rocks....(I always been querying about this "hip-pop" I thought it was typo (hip-hop)....)

MsMiyabi 9th January 2006 01:21 PM

and If you going to say no Please state why. If your not going to state why then don't vote No.

Keishi 9th January 2006 01:29 PM

hmm....Like I said, I love her hip-hop songs...esp. SO CRAZY, WoWa, ah can list em all...to many!
but I dislike her ballads....her vocals are different and turned out to be a lil' weird....

but I voted for yes, since I love her hip hop songs....

I thought so but I answered just in case...

AyuGAME 9th January 2006 01:37 PM

yes..i respect her
she is a great performer...and she is the one that bring RnB song to the top of Japan music...

Ayumi-Yummi 9th January 2006 01:51 PM

She's an Icon in J-pop Music. Her popularity is strong now-a-days which is a big achievement considering she's been around since the mid. 90's and not too many artists can keep a strong fan base for that long. Her music timeline is fabulous.
I would say an Amuro Genre I love is the current "Hip-Pop" stuff.
I also love her older Soul Sister stuff too.

CREA.tive 9th January 2006 03:50 PM

Yes i really like her songs (especially So Crazy). She has a great style too:yes

KonoSekai 9th January 2006 04:01 PM

I like Namie to a point. I mean, some of her hip-pop songs are so crazy that I love them - like Namie's Style. It makes me dance. But my friend in Japan brought up a good point. She said she respects Namie because even though she went through a divorce, she decided to keep her unborn child instead of having an abortion. I respect her because of that, and the fact that she's been working so hard for such a long time.

Brittany 9th January 2006 04:30 PM

I like her older stuff.. but not her Hip Hop stuff as much. Her ballads are great :)

I voted yes!

HvnSntGurl 9th January 2006 04:37 PM

Yes I respect Namie. She makes good music. Especially her Hip-Hop songs. How could I not respect her? I love her music. She's one of my top played artist.

Annabelle 9th January 2006 04:39 PM

She's a hardworker, an amazing dancer with a nice voice and style. She's also a caring mother and a strong girl with a kind personality. She's a well rounded artist and a real icon. I respect her a lot, she's the kind of girl I relate to and admire. I like better her older music with TK, but I still enjoy most of her recent work if it's not too hip-hop. Pop-R&B like "GIRL TALK" is fine :yes

Celaphorce 9th January 2006 05:40 PM

She's an Icon, and a great sex symbol. She has everything going for her, and she has an awesome career, her music isn't too dirty or too innocent, it's sort of both, and that's a good thing. I respect her for her hard work, I can't recall this, but hasn't it been almost 10 years of hard work?! I might be over-exaggerating, but it's close enough as to how long she's been in the music industry. Nothing more to say, except for she should keep doing what she's doing.

Azmaria 9th January 2006 05:42 PM

yes, because her songs are awsome, I like her older stuff, her ballads and now the hip pop, I dont know much about her yet, but I am still growing to be a fan of her

bulmasman 9th January 2006 06:19 PM

though i'm not really a fan it's hard not to respect her. If not for her music, then at least her staying power and she is also a pretty good live performer.

same here :)

I don't know much about her music since I've only heard 'Queen Of Hip-Hop' but I liked most of that album, specially "WoWa" and "I Love You", so I voted yes.

sora-kara 9th January 2006 07:02 PM

I voted NO.

I don't really care about her either way, I'm not going to bash her at all, but I have zero interest in her.
I'm sure she works hard, but I really have absolutely no attraction to her or her music in the slightest way.

I've given her a few chances, but I don't like her choice of music, her voice, or style of dress, or the way she looks in general (a wee bit pinched, like an alien :P).

It's not even that I don't respect her, she's been around for a while now and established herself as an artist who will probably be around longer......but the poll optins were limited.

† Lynn † 9th January 2006 07:03 PM

yes ^^
i don't say she is icon...
but she's amazing...
i like a lot her songs...

elepop 9th January 2006 07:13 PM

I voted for the 2nd option.

I never really listen to her music, but I know she has been in the music industry for a long time now and I know she has talent even though I might not be a fan. She has worked really hard and I respect her.
