ipod question
 

I'm taking my ipod with me travelling... how will I be able to charge it? I'll be in Japan, England, Scotland and Germany. Do I have to buy special extensions? Is there something to charge it that's just a regular wall socket? Should I wait until I'm in the country to buy it?

If you can bring a laptop you dun need to buy anything at all.. (or if you can find computers to charge your ipod on the trip). If not, you can buy iPod USB power adapter. Here are some of the power adapters you can find on apple website: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...r&mco=C39415D1

Or you can go to local store and ask for a power adapter for iPod... I believe there're other brands making such thing. Personally I will buy apple made products tho... just the sense of safeness :D

Yep, you only need your USB cable and a computer to charge an iPod :).

If you're staying in international hotels, they might have two different sockets. When I was in Japan, that was the case. I'm assuming that was the case in England since my friends had their digital cameras everyday.

I'm not going to have my laptop with me unfortunately. I'd like to travel light as possible :) Maybe I'll just hope to be near computers I can charge it on :) It lasts a few days before it needs charging...

And Sweer I think my friend in Germany lives near Munich but we're going to go hang out in Berlin too :) I want to visit Stade because that's my last name! We also want to try and catch a Robbie Williams concert cause he's in Germany at that time but the concerts are all sold out and the tickets on ebay are really expensive...

The sockets in Japan are actually similar to the ones here in the US..you don't need to worry about buying an adapter for Japan at least. The only difference with Japanese outlets is that their prongs are both the same size [the ones in the US usually have the sockets where it's one big, one small if you get what I mean...]

Most of those countries use different plugs/electrical standards to the USA. Lateral thinking required: rather than buying a converter plus adaptors for all, it's worth looking into a solar power or hand-cranked option. I don't know how effective either idea is, online reviews will no doubt be informative.

well maybe your buddies also have an iPod, thus have the proper adapter

the best thing you can do is buy one (CompUSA has the retractable cord kind, i got one for around 20 dollars, brand rubbed off though...), then go to Wal*Mart and get the traveling outlets.

In England there a normal sockets. By normal I mean 3 plug, looks abit like this,
