favorite Hikki album and why

sorry this isnt a poll....i dont understand how to make polls here.

A. First Love
B. Distance
C. Deep River

im not counting the single collection for obvious reasons.

i vote C. Deep River because the songs are so pretty (Deep River, Hikari) and they are very unique (A.S.A.P.,Play Ball, Sakura Drops). the PVs scared me though. (especially Traveling....) its like a horror movie with flowers and red hair and weird things playing pingpong......and her hair hurt my eyes.....

Deep River. All Hikki's albums are excellent but this one is perfection.

There's a really beautifull reveiw of it, MC Tatsujin on here wrote it on Utada-Online

Deep River, no contest. If we're also counting Exodus, a tie between Exodus and Deep River. Distance comes in at second place and First Love somewhere way below - not fond of that one at all, even if it has some mildly entertaining tracks.

You took every word right out of my mouth!

My favourite is DEEP RIVER. A true masterpiece, it's one of my favourite albums ever. Distance is also an awesome album. It has a nice selection of tracks. Finally there's the overrated and plain First Love. I don't enjoy the album tracks, but the singles are all right.

I agree with everyone that DEEP RIVER is a masterpiece from hikki. Probly I will say First Love comes to second, cuz that's the only album that i dun need to skip any songs at all (except the last one... Automatic remix). Two songs in DEEP RIVER are not good at all (Play Ball, ASAP), but other songs are outstanding, that's why I place DEEP RIVER over First Love. For Distance.. mehh the single materials are good but the album songs kinda bore me out. Besides, I feel like she's tryin' to "do something" (kinda like calculating something) in Distance... but the outcome somehow is more "restricted". First Love, on the other hand, flows freely. It's like she just made the songs out from her mind directly.

As everyone before me has said, DEEP RIVER. i like how each of Utada's songs are a unique style, and its very evident in this album. I could listen to it without it being necessary to skip over songs. A majority of my favorite Hikkie songs come from this album. Also, her voice has really matured and she has a lot of background vocals in each song, giving a soothing, relaxing sensation.

I also choose Deep River. One of the greatest album I ever heard.I love every song in that album especially Deep River, usomitai na I Love You,and play ball.I also like Dtsiance but not as much as Deep River.

Deep River. The title track is my all time favourite Hikki song. I can't properly explain and compare it to the other albums now though because I've gotten completely sick of most of the songs in these albums (other than Exodus which I never heard)

i dont like First Love. i dont see how it set a record for the sales. it was wayyyyy too umm....how do i put this......bland....all except for Automatic. that song is awesome. Distance was ok. good songs, but they dont compare well to Deep River.

Mad_Cactuar 29th January 2006 01:12 AM

Deep River obviously. Thats like the best thing ever made in the world. Its my religion.

Echoed_Memories 29th January 2006 08:40 PM

I really like DEEP RIVER, because she experimented with alot of different genres on that album.

hopeorpain 29th January 2006 10:23 PM

It's hard to decide between distance and deep river. distance is so 'different' and deep river is so 'glamorous'....ahhh I would have to pick distance because i like every song off that album. in deep river there are definitely many catchy melodies and lyrics...but it just doesn't flow as well as distance does.
