Finally. I've been waiting for this, but I'm sad there's no genki hatsu ratsu, allthough I'm not too surprised since it was only a B-side.

Ooh. Wonder how it'll do on ORICON? How well have her old albums sold in the past?

I will recommend this to everyone who like j-pop/idol-pop. Her albums have a lot of bland and boring filler tracks which sadly aren't saved by vocal abilities or interesting arrangements. But most of her A-sides have been very pleasant, catchy and good pop songs. It's a bit more mellow and relaxing than the usual avex idol stuff and not as overly happy as H!P. Also there are a lot of tracks for one CD. This album and Re. are the only two albums by her worth getting IMO.

HEr sales have never been really great, as she is mostly a famed actress/model/CM-girl. She definetly is a well know idol, but not because of music like f.ex aya matsuura and ayumi hamasaki. She has won many of the same type of awards that ayu won, best skin, best hair plus turning out high in many oricon polls. I think she's considered one of the most beautiful girls of the country and she was voted the "girl who most boys want for girlfriend".
She never had any number one hits, but in 2004 ai no tame ni reached #94 in the yearly oricon chart. Most of her singles debuts around 10th position, most in the top ten. Her Album sales plunged after Re., but have been mostly the same as singles.

i think Aya is more sucessful in acting...

i know her through Attack No 1' which was shown at Singapore cable last year. Then, i saw Azumi, which is GREAT!!! sHe's so cool! the charcter is very unlike Aya.

She is having a flop drama right now, so I guess they are releasing the single collection now because they hope it'll be a hit and the media will focus on it.

I diden't know her latest drama flopped. What happened? =P

I don't think it has anything to do with the drama though, it's really about time for her to release this. But I think there's a chance that this may be the last thing she'll release in a long time, especially if doesen't do very well. Her CD sales has "flopped" long ago.

LacusClyne 6th August 2006 04:23 AM

^flop!!!! I remember there's a new drama airing now in Japan. Is that the one????

andre2907 6th August 2006 02:02 PM

Yes, Shimokita Sunday. Is doing very bad in ratings, less than 10%.

LacusClyne 7th August 2006 03:58 AM

WHAT!! less then 10%! What happen? What went wrong..i'm kinda looking for it when the vcd is realease here....

Holly 21st August 2006 10:59 AM

Things aren't looking good for Aya? She's had nice songs and I like her voice, I wish she'd have some mid-level success.

She has had some mid-level success and still has taken into consideration the decline of female solo artists. I think success-wise in music she is she's like the former musume gone solos or shimatani hitomi.

Calico 21st August 2006 11:14 PM

Ah, poor Aya. At any rate, her songs are good. My favorite is Usotsuki. But eh...I think her first album is her best. After that, the quality seems to drop more and more. =\

AyuGAME 22nd August 2006 02:30 AM

she looks pretty in that pics
