Is Ayu looking for someone?

I no this sounds RRREEEAAAALLLLLLLLYYYY stupid and all,i already know it sounds really dumb, but i have this really big and weird feeling Ayu might be looking for someone.Someone she use to like alot and might have passed on or something.not like her grandma or dad or anything like that but some one she really loved.in some of her song it says it (but its most likely just a song) but some song like the song who,LOVE ~refrain~,HANABI number 1 and number 2,no way to say,and a whole lot more songs.i think Ayu might be trying to contact someone she use to love.i think Ayu might belive in reincarnation (i know there have been people arguing on this web site about what religion she is and all but this is what i think she belives in)its a provin fact that a large amount of Japanese people are Shinto and Buddist and if i know buddists (which i do because i have studyed it for a long time) then you are reincarnated then you get reborned as someone else at another time and another place.in the song ,who, it says she hopes the songs that she have been singing gets to the person that she loved who has been reborned to another place.and in her song LOVE~refrain~ it says something about a difference in time and if you become reborned you would be reborned to a different age from Ayu.Its most likely one of my day dreaming about Ayu gone crazy but this is what i think might be going on.i know its a compleatly crazy idea but i needed to hear what other people think.and please dont throw this thread in the trash or anything i want to hear what everyone thinks about what i had to say please just think about it and then post.you guys have no idea how hard it was for me to say all this:dead2

It's not that stupid of a thought. The Voyage PV had a reincarnation theme. So it's obviously a concept that has crossed Ayu's mind.

But I think the songs were written for people she knows in this life.

BigAyuFan 2nd September 2006 08:08 PM

i guess i would have to agree with thats

Well, anyone searching for love would have the feeling of "searching for someone". I also have that feeling from time to time ^^ It's more like a hope to meet true love on this life.

HiruNoKaze 3rd September 2006 01:36 AM

Very thought provoking...thanks, Afreek.

alt.total-loser 3rd September 2006 05:04 AM

That's... interesting. But... yeah. I'm confused.

Afreek 3rd September 2006 08:37 AM

here r aa few things i found to help out what i was saying

poker face

If an important thing is found let's protect it to the end.
If I hit a wall that's too high and get hurt, I should stand up again.
I don't wish for anything else, just that one is enough.
I want your love

the thing she wants to protect the most is their love and the wall was the death and the way she *stood up* is her trying to get her voice out to find him.

P.S.II

If there was something you'd
take on this trip, it's
your powers of memory
and imagination, right?
You arranged the search for the fragment
from sometime that was already lost.

"Can I yell loudly? Until my voice withers away."
"Can I yell loudly? Until my voice withers away."
Can you hear me?

The flowers I thought would have bloomed here
are now gone. It was inevitable.
Even if the day comes that you
hear this song alone, please don't forget.

Can I cry just because I want to?
Until my tears wither away.
Can I yell loudly?
Until my voice withers away.
Can I cry just because I want to?
Can I yell loudly?
Time has passed...

the power of memory to remember her when u r reborn and "you arranged the search for fragment from sometime that was already lost"trying to remember her from the past."can i yell loudly until my voice withers away can u hear me"shes saying she'll try to find him forever though her songs and asking if he has found her or heard her music yet??"the flowers i thought bloomed here r now gone"its different without u here"even when the day comes that u hear this song alone please dont forget can i cry just because i want to-time has passed" the day u find me i will still cry for the amount of time we have spent appart for so long

who

On the night we spent apart
The moon was far away and I was crying.

Who taught me true strength?
Who taught me kindness?
On whose account do I walk?
Who did I want to stroke my hair?
Who didn't give up for me?
I'll never forget.

When I stray from the path, and
When the path is too long,
I was muttering to myself.
That's the way life is...

I pray that this singing voice
will reach you...
I pray that this singing voice
will reach you...

the first night he died she cred alot i pray my voice will reach u means that she hopes that her becoming a singer would get the word of her and where she is out to that one person.

SCAR

Tired from crying, about to fall asleep
you turned to me and whispered,
"I'm sorry," and smiled a little.

That's what you were like.

The reason I couldn't even
say "goodbye" properly was that
I got the feeling that I'd
see you again. Or...

They meet again somewhere today,
those two people who understand each other.
A tale of lost love
is repeated again.

she didnt no he was going to die so she never said good bye shes hopeing that he finds her again

now those r just some of the ones i found and hopefully some more people r seeing what ive been trying to say and understanding what i have been saying.i will try to find some more later.

Well, maybe at first she was talking about her father, until he passed, cause i dont' recall anymore songs like that after MA...but i know i'm wrong so someone hurry up and correct me.

Afreek 3rd September 2006 04:19 PM

well at first in some of her songs such as boys and girls in her lyrics it says

I was really expecting it.
I was really doubting it.
What was it? Who was it?
They say he's a good person.
He seems like a person I don't care about.

i thought that song was for her father because she said that he left and she doesnt care about him anymore and thats what the song kinda says in it and in some of the songs she would be looking for someone called her lover or true love and i didnt expect that to be family or friends and it might have been for Tomoya Nagase but in her songs she said she was looking for the one she lost and the one she truely loved and that makes no sence to me if she already has Tomoya Nagase??

^I can't believe such sad & sinister lyrics could be inserted in such happy song :laugh

kristen 3rd September 2006 05:31 PM

Sounds like Fullmoon wo Sagashite.

*Petit* 3rd September 2006 06:18 PM

She writes about her and her frends' experiences, so she might be her interpretation of what someone else experienced too.

Tasked 3rd September 2006 07:00 PM

That's always the thing that always surprises me when I actually LISTEN to what Ayu's singing in some of her happy pop tunes... Lyrics are often sad and often sophisticated.. Listen to the happy tune of HONEY while actually singing about depression in one line is a bit....weird xD

Afreek 3rd September 2006 07:20 PM

i no i agree with Rody! i think it will be the might be the same for the new song 1 love

out of the lyricses i have heard ,here is how i think the story goes.Ayu and a male use to be a very happy couple they would always be together and every time she saw him she would be soo happy.in most of her lyricses seasons passed and i guess he made her a promise of some kind that she hasent really said it out in her lyricses but think he told her that he was going somewhere over the winter and i think the promis was that he would return home back to her.after that summer passed it was winter and judging by her lyrics it seems that he left and they did spend the last day together before he left for somewhere.during the winter she got a phone call saying that the man she loved had died.and because he made her the promis that be would return home back to her she never said really said good bye to him on the last day they spent together.in one of her songs it said that she stayed up that night crying the whole time about him.and in another song it said "winter has come and passes once more and now this will be another summer with out you, please dont forget about the promis you made me"(ill try to find the song for that one too).so,from what i have heard so far this is how i think the story goes, of coures i will have to read all the other lyrices too ,to find out more.when i do ill post it

That is so very poetic, to use that kind of juxtaposition of happy melody with not so happy lyrics. That is seriously a completely different level of music-making...that's why she's a poet to me. I imagine it's very difficult to use lyrics that don't always match up with the melody tone/mood wise without creating overpowering incongruency. To execute something like that well is a very sophisticated form of art.

Though I'm not nearly skilled enough in Japanese to tell whether she pulled it off well, I'm willing to bet she did, seeing as how people are so touched by her lyrics. I remember reading that she became popular in the first place because people loved her lyrics. Was it in one of Masa's translations?
