Thanks for the news.

Let's all hope the Mika single is good. I didn't like her song "GLAMOROUS SKY" at all. I don't think it's really her style, and her voice was bad. Something like "Fed up" would be better.

I also hope Yuna's song isn't a ballad. I'd like to see something like "JOURNEY"!

I actually liked how Mika sounded in GLAMOROUS SKY, it was different from the normal voices heard in punk rock. But since this one is going to be a little bit more of a ballad, I think it might suit her better than GS did.

I wonder how Truth is going to sound though. I wasn't exactly impressed with her last two singles, so hopefully this one will turn out good.

Both of them definitely need the tie-ins now, their previous few singles haven't been exactly taking the charts by storm.

I liked GS a lot and thought Mika should have tried sticking w/ the rock style for a little while. I also am waiting for Hyde to release the song w/ his vocals on it instead. (he wrote the music for those that don't know.)

yeah... mika sounds really good on GS. She's like using her style to sing with the rock music.. and it blends quite well IMO.

miracleofsuzaku 4th October 2006 03:58 AM

Thanks for the news! I truly hope that Mika will actually have a true PV for the title song.

GS is the best Mika song ever. I hope this can top it.

From NANA-NANA.net
Quote:

The theme song of “NANA 2,” which is performed by the movie’s star Mika Nakashima, is being produced by TAKURO from the infamous rock band GLAY. The song’s title is “Hitoiro.” Like the previous theme song “Glamorous Sky,” which sold about 600,000 copies; The song will be sung by Mika Nakashima representing Oosaki Nana.

TAKURO is producing and composing the song, while Ai Yazawa (”NANA’s” creator) writes the lyrics. “Hitoiro” is a rock ballad which will work to support the climax of the movie. It will be performed by (Mika Nakashima) Oosaki Nana’s band “Black Stones.”

Like the previous song “Glamorous Sky,” Mika Nakashima will release the single under the title of “NANA starring Mika Nakashima” on November 29th 2006. Another song for the movie, “Eyes For the Moon,” has also been recorded.

Nakashima, who has finished recording, comments, “Singing the song was actually difficult.” This is her first time working with TAKURO who, “…Directed me with a gentle nature. He even kindly taught me how to sing the song,” she said.

On the other hand, TAKURO comments about Nakashima, “You can’t shake her world, as she is the owner of a uniquely wonderful voice. Her smiling face, without the presence of any spite, left a very good impression on me.” He did not have to order Mika Nakashima around at all; And the task was completed pleasantly with conversations, which surrounded the topic of TAKURO’s child, who was born last year.

The previous song “Glamorous Sky,” was produced by L’Arc-en-Ciel’s HYDE, for the hit movie which pulled in 4,030 million yen at the box office. This time, because fans hope for something very original, the staff requested for TAKURO’s help. To compose the melody, TAKURO repeatedly communicated with Ai Yazawa through email. From Hokodate, Hokkaido, GLAY advanced to Tokyo. TAKURO, who shared experiences similar to the leading character, relates, “I’ll do my best to create this melody, so the original depth would not be broken. Expressing in one word, the thought of a human being standing alone in Tokyo’s winter… It would be this song,” that you would think of.

NANA 2 hits Japanese theaters on December 9th and Hitoiro will be released on November 29th.

Blame Yazawa for making Osaki Nana short-haired. :laugh

Mad_Cactuar 6th October 2006 04:19 AM

I KNEW 色 WAS IRO.

Preview sounds a lot better than GS, but I dont understand why they're releasing it before the movie. SHouldn't it be after or during the movie's first week?

stardusties 6th October 2006 04:29 AM

yea same here...that's just what avex did w/ ayu's HEAVEN...

maybe they'd rather promote the movie w/ the songs rather than the songs w/ th movie because it's "bigger"?

LacusClyne 6th October 2006 05:05 AM

i can't wait to hear mika's rock. her voice is unique when singing rock. i love Glamourous Sky!!!! it would be great to hear another song like that!!!

hallelujah_united 6th October 2006 06:13 AM

Um, Hitoiro isn't really rock. It's more of a ballad. Plus, since it's being produced by TAKURO, it most probably won't rock as hard as HYDE's songs do anyway.

The preview didn't sound too promising though...

truehappiness 6th October 2006 09:50 AM

I think this will sell at the least, 300k.. :/

But that'll be cause of the NANA tie-in..

jasonrey 6th October 2006 05:40 PM

updated the tracklist posted in the nana2 official site.. probably the covers too... not sure is it the cover or not.. but its nice!!

Ryoko 8th October 2006 07:11 PM

I do adore the mic...Thanks for the wall/pic.
Where's the previews for the songs?

starr5245 9th October 2006 11:29 AM
