[2006] Tomoya Nagase's father about Ayu & Tomoya

http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/waiwai...dm020000c.html

Dad says no end in sight for 5-year Ayu-Nagase love saga
Japanese showbiz's longest-running "on-again, off-again" love match has been given renewed vigor after pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki and her full-time beau Tomoya Nagase arrived back in Japan from an overseas trip all lovey-dovey and holding hands, according to Shukan Josei (10/24).

The couple's affectionate return from a quick jaunt to L.A. came amid widespread speculation that they were about to split after a relationship whose public side spans half a decade and, in private, has probably been going even longer.

"They're always lovey-dovey," Nagase's taxi driver father tells a Shukan Josei hack, who has paid him a fare that also gets her an exclusive interview.
It's been five years since Hamasaki and Nagase publicly declared they were a pair. Recent reports, however, have claimed the contrary, so the tender return -- given widespread coverage in the tabloid media -- is something of a triumphant one for the lovers.

Nagase's dad says the two stars certainly appear headed for the aisle, but the fact they haven't made it yet after dating for so long has stoked the embers of speculation about a split. The elder Nagase, though, dismisses all talk of a breakup.
"Even the tiniest thing happening around them is turned into something huge. There was all that stuff about the foreigner and how she was going to go off and live overseas," the cabby tells Shukan Josei, referring to rumors that Hamasaki had received an engagement ring from the son of a world-famous designer and that her affair with Nagase was finished. Hamasaki has since totally distanced herself from the alleged foreign suitor, which has in turn worked in Nagase's favor.

"He's not the type to care much about the paparazzi. But Ayu is more worried about the media. When reporters come along, she'll tell him to lay off on the touchy feely stuff," Nagase's father says. "And, don't forget, they are going out together."

Nagase's father says he wouldn't mind seeing his son and Hamasaki tying the knot pretty soon, especially as they're both getting close to 30 (Ayu is 28 and her man a year younger) and have been dating for five years. And he dismisses the idea that they're headed in separate directions.
"Tomoya loves her and if they want to be together, then everybody around them should want that, too," Nagase's father says. "There's absolutely no reason why they should split up."

The cabby says he is really proud of his son.

"He's a great bloke and I'm not just saying that because he's my son," the cabby tells Shukan Josei. "And he told me that when he falls in love with someone, he stays in love with that person for the rest of his life." (By Ryann Connell)

x3 that's co cute :)
I think why Ayu doesn't let papparazi take pics of them being cuddy is the same reason why avex won't allow, or should i say strongly oppose, her to marry?imean like..avex opposes to that too, not Ayu XD...hmm

(then again, it IS from mainichi...how are we sure that this is valid :3?)

truehappiness 13th October 2006 12:24 PM

I bet Ayu doesn't want marriage to hinder her career for now at least..

immel 13th October 2006 12:26 PM

t's well written and no conclusions trying to be drawn out of it. Not any of the usual tabloid crap. LOVELY.

Thanks Rody! & halkun.

I wonder if they're preparing the world for a marriage annoucement soon by having stuff like this go out to the press.

If she wants to get married, she should, but she should finish her career first.

It wouldn't just be Avex that is against the engagement but Johnny's Entertainment as well and probably even more so.

Also, I'm just not sure if Ayu is the marrying kind. :)

etheruraura 13th October 2006 12:34 PM

^^ Thats ridiculous. Tons of musicians are married =/

immel 13th October 2006 12:39 PM

I think Ayu is the marrying kind, at least she's devoted enough to what she does/likes to keep it up, so marrying wouldn't be that much of a change - she's already devoted to Nagase, proven over the past 5 years.

Although... in Japan I guess that a marriage is something even more definate than doing it here.

truehappiness 13th October 2006 12:41 PM

I think that a marriage in Japan is forever...

Like, even if you're having problems, you must stay together. But like, in the West.. DIVORCE!
So, it'd be like, bad to find the wrong person. I think Ayu and Tomoya found each other perfect for one another.. but they're probably still in the 'love love' stage :D

immel 13th October 2006 12:44 PM

How is it with divorces in Japan, does it happen? I guess it does, but... it's very hard for the wife if she doesn't have any job (which is way too common), so she's got to rely on her husband... ugh... horrible society.

truehappiness 13th October 2006 12:46 PM

I think many women in Japan are now becoming independent.. like they work and don't really find time to get married :<

truehappiness 13th October 2006 12:49 PM

That really was probably fake LOL
About that photobook and stuff.

So.. yeah. This is most likely true stuff since.. yeah. I don't know what to say now.

GANBATTE TOMOAYU!!!

Finally, some positive tabloids :3. Before I clicked in the topic, I thought it would go along the lines of some good 'ol Jerry Springer family action.

Yeah. There might have existed plans for one, but everything in that article around it was most likely made up conclusions. That rumor really didn't have any real back bone in it.

I think it's true because it is only a objective report about what Nagases dad has said, no conclusions or dilly-dally around other crap that's usually found in the tabloids made to sell. More or less only pure information, then, if it's all completely made up is another question.

I trust it though.

the source was originally from a mag named " weekly women"

Qt Mashi 13th October 2006 02:19 PM

WoW! I had no idea the media hounded on Ayu so much. I wonder how she kept her relationship private. Does the Japanese media respect her when she says "Lay off on the touchy feely stuff?"

Aww! That's about the sweetest thing I ever heard! No wonder Ayu is still in love with him. I bet Nagase is the romantic type :D
