Individual aritst TV ratings @ Kouhaku - SMAP #1 for 4th time

SMAP's leads Kouhaku ratings for the 4th time (2000, 2003, 2005, 2006) as their performance of "Arigatou" had a TV viewership rating of 48.8%. The highest watched female/red team performers at this year's Kouhaku were Koda Kumi, DREAMS COME TRUE and Kawanaka Miyuki at 47.3%

If you don't count last year's performance by Gorie as a "female" performance, it would be Kuu's 2nd year of having the highest female performer TV rating as her performance last year had a rating of 47.2%.

It depends on the source, because according to the new sites (about three days after Kouhaku), Koda Kumi had a bigger audience than Gorie (Gorie did 47% while Koda did 47.2%). But I don't know... maybe the ratings were early one and the later ones were correct?

^Yeah, I've even seen a lot of differing numbers for DJ OZMA this year as well. Well I think it's safe to say that it's her 2nd year of having the highest 'real' female performer TV rating.

I do believe that Koda beat Gorie by the .2% last year because on one of the music variety shows, Gorie had confronted her about it. It was probably a preliminary number when it showed that they tied for viewership.

Even after all these years, SMAP still has a huge fanbase!
