Ayumi's asian sales

I was just randomly reading through Ayumi's discography, and suddenly there are Asian sales there. Are these legit? Do they actually count? Since if they do, that means Secret sold over a million after all. :yes

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I thought you only could get a percentage that the album sold overall on the charts and not the actual sales. They seem a bit fake for me because we only seem to be getting RAINBOW/Duty's sales now o.o

Does 'Asian' mean... throughout Asia? Or what? UGH.

Heh. Noticed those a couple days ago. Was like, "what?". Wonder where the numbers came from exactly.

well, for (m)u sales in Singapore and Taiwan, it has been staying at the chrt for a long long time. although there are no exact sales numbers, but she's been at least at the no 1 for 3 weeks in a row

like Secret, Singapore had the album on sale 3 days after japan, and it has been on our HMV chart for number 1(and not yet drop). i just went to the store to check yesterday.

Don't think the figures are correct.Especially the sales of A best for Singapore-453,089.The population of Singapore in 2001 was around 3.5 mil and I think the top album of that time was Jay's second album.Which sold like 90000plus.So I doubt this it true.

^asia does not means only singapore, there's still malaysia, china, hongkong, taiwan and more.....but taiwan and hongkong are the biggest market with j-pop. it is possible that ayu sell that much

but note that Japan is in asia so :)

1,000,876 (Asia)
599,876 (Japan)
___________ -
401,000 (Asia)

Ayu sold 401,000 copies but why not 400,000 only? Because the editor wanted Secret to show that oversold 1,000,000 :)

you know what.s funnt from the sales on wiki that for her nothing from nothing album she went from "off chart" to... #1 with A SONG FOR xx

that.s cool! lol

It's fake. There isn't any organization like Oricon counting sales in most of Asia and we only know the sales if the artist gets a certification (and I'm pretty sure AVEX never announced Ayu got one anywhere in Asia).

extepan 9th January 2007 04:22 PM

^ IFPI counts sales in both Hong Kong and Taiwan. so don't be so sure just yet.

All in all, I hope Ayu continues to do well =)

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 10th January 2007 12:36 AM

I assume they would sell higher.

But Avex should have a good idea of how much Ayu sold throughout asia as they would how copies they've shipped. So they could have a rough estimate like somewhere between 1 000 000 - 1 100 000
