What version of NFN is this? [yahoo auctions]

http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r31834715

Is it the pirated one that was released and pulled back again because the recording company behind it was missing the license? I'm pretty sure it's not the original, the original wasn't released in a jewel case, or was it?

ayu1m 4th February 2007 12:24 PM

Hmm.. I'm not quite sure what you mean but it looks the same as this

:shrug

The Auction is for the Original NFN Album.
There is an Album (normal 12cm Jewel case) and a Single (8cm Single)

annime 4th February 2007 01:28 PM

30.000 yen???????? O.O

sora2522 4th February 2007 05:48 PM

^ well, since ayu became super popular despite this album/single release...it's worth THOUSANDS (plus, she sold very few of NFN, which makes it even more valuable)

ayu1m 4th February 2007 06:11 PM

30k yen actually quite cheap.. compared to f.ex. eBay and that $3000..

I am right that she sold only 250 copies of this.. :?

immel 4th February 2007 06:25 PM

Are you people sure this is actually an original?

Sends a certain recent thread to my head, about people being willing to pay $400 for it.

~angel*ayumi~ 4th February 2007 06:27 PM

I whould say yes... the Taiwan bootleg/whatever looks different.
nick from eneabba.net also has listed this as the orginial Album.

Delirium-Zer0 4th February 2007 07:56 PM

It's the real one. The album is in a slimline jewel case like this. You can also tell from the COCA stock number and the pure grey cover (the version of the photo used on the single & bootleg cover has a red filter on it). Also, this is a slimline case (like the boys & girls single), the Ho-Son bootleg version is in a regular size jewel case with a slipcase over it (sometimes that's not included though).

This is real, and I dare say that 30,000 yen is actually a pretty good deal for it. If I had it, I'd pay that without question.

Alessia_Tateno 5th February 2007 12:16 AM

I wonder where all the other copies are..I mean they didnt make only 250 copies I guess.. they just sold that bad 'cause it was horrible release..so where are the other copies? did they throw them? I dont understand why make things out of print if they had other copies free T.T

Delirium-Zer0 5th February 2007 12:38 AM

Chances are those lucky few who HAVE copies of it either didn't realize what they had and have thrown it away over the years, or they're keeping it for as long as possible since it's one heck of a collector's item.

But usually if a CD doesn't sell well, the label just buys them back from the stores after awhile... in the US those are given a notch sawed out of the jewel case, a punched-out hole on the insert, or a gold promo stamp and then re-sold to stores at deep discount prices, and then the stores stick those in the discount/used CD bins. Not sure what happens in japan, but given how high-quality the few copies of this are that I've seen, probably not that. I guess they just take them back and destroy them. *shrug*

Alessia_Tateno 5th February 2007 02:20 AM

Destroy? How stupid..they should keep and guess that some fans like someone here would buy it some day, as a big ayu's fan and collector..so they can get money from it and you can buy at a reasonable price..now even if the persons who have a copy sell it like it is a real memento they wont get a money.

Delirium-Zer0 5th February 2007 04:48 AM

Most likely, when and if the CDs were destroyed, they had no idea ayu would become the big star she became. There'd be no reason to take up warehouse space on a CD that, as far as they can tell, will never sell. In 1996, when that would have happened, ayu looked like no more than yet another aidoru who tried a music career & failed. It happens alot, the artists are never heard from again after they reach 18 years old. *shrug*

I've never seen it before either.

Can I just ask why you posted that picture in here?

emi♡ 7th February 2007 07:27 AM

^I second that request, I mean, you don't just go around posting random pictures with no explanation...does it have anything to do with the NOTHING FROM NOTHING album or single?

~angel*ayumi~ 7th February 2007 09:34 AM

The picture shows the recording of NFN and it is hotlinked from eneabba.net btw.

4ever*ayu 8th February 2007 02:54 AM
