The title sounds really cliché.. But ofcourse, that doesn't say anything about the quality of the album itself.

Umbrella is terribly catchy, so I'm interested in hearing what the album is like.

Does the Umbrella single have those official remixes, where can they be found?

Vinylfantasy 21st May 2007 10:48 PM

I have these Umbrella mixes:

Umbrella (Rafael Lelis Club Mix)
Umbrella (Rafael Lelis Radio Mix)
Umbrella ft. Jay-Z (Jody den Broeder Destruction Radio Edit)
Umbrella ft. Jay-Z (Jody den Broeder Lush Radio Edit)
Umbrella ft. Jay-Z (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Radio Edit)
Umbrella ft. Jay-Z (The Lindbergh Palace Radio Edit)

The first two weren't officially commissioned but they're top notch tribal house tracks. He remixed Unfaithful too.

Hit me up if you're interested.

Whoa, there are so many remixes for this song. Is there gonna be an actual maxi-single released in the US with them on it? I certainly hope so. I loved how Madonna's singles for COADF had a ton of remixes and were actually released here. Other artists need to do that more too.

Anyways, we have an official Rihanna thread right HERE. It's not even two pages back in this forum. Someone should merge these.

i love this album! its got some funky songs! its quite a change from the music on her previous albums (which i never really liked -- i only liked her singles)

I like the single from the album.. the PV is really cool looking too

too bad the cover is horrible

firefox 22nd May 2007 12:54 PM

the album is quite impressive now to get the missing tracks:

13. Cry (UK/Japan Bonus Track)
14. Haunted (Japan Bonus Track)

spookshow 22nd May 2007 02:19 PM

the more i listen to this album, the more i like it! there's only one or two songs i'm not feelin, but the rest are great!

I have to applaud you, Rihanna. You have secured your spot as a top 3 female performer in my eyes.
I'm glad that only about 1 sixth of the album is kind of, remotely reggae, unlike Music of the Sun.
After one spin of the 12-track version, I love how the album starts on a high, then gradually falls until the middle part where it reaches a small peak, then rapidly falls and rises just as rapidly to end on another high.
I'm not sure if it's better than A Girl Like Me. Though I am sure that I will think it's better than A Girl Like Me in the coming weeks.

Cyria 22nd May 2007 08:34 PM

The album is surprisingly good. Good Girl Gone Bad is the only song that bores me, the rest are much better than I thought they would be.

bondingo 22nd May 2007 09:26 PM

Wait, how does everyone know how the album is already? It wasn't released yet, was it?

The album leaked a few days ago.

I'm actually liking this album after a few listens. My favorite tracks right now are Umbrella, Breakin' Dishes, Shut Up and Drive, and Question Existing.

spookshow 23rd May 2007 01:10 PM

how good is Rehab? *sigh* i love it! i'm pretty sure that's the song produced by timbaland and JT -- i swear it's JT's voice in there

Ballerina_xXX 28th May 2007 04:55 AM

Umbrella is her best song so far!!!!!!!!!! I love it.

extepan 28th May 2007 06:05 AM

actually i thnk umbrella is less catchy than S.O.S. or Pon de Replay. i dont really like Umbrella, but i would not skip it if it came on.

voltron 29th May 2007 08:25 PM

I've never really liked her albums before as they're usually filled with...filler. However, this album is awesome. It has some weak points, but it's definitely a step in a different direction for her and she suceeded in taking the risk.

The lyrics are typical Timberlake, but in this case, it isn't such a bad thing.
