I think you got the reading a lil wrong. It's "sora" (sky) not "kara" (empty). ^^ I don't really get the last line of this part though...
Sono tame ni (for this sake) wa sora (sky) mo toberu (can fly) hazu (should, must)

Thanks for translating! I'm glad that ayu's lyrics are translated into English and many people can read them.

But there are some parts where the translation is wrongly done. I wanna try to correct them because translation might bring the wrong idea which Ayu herself doesn't intend. That's too sad and should be avoided. Though my english translation is not perfet...

1. 'that's important now' should be something like...
'We are making much of the present time' which means that we should think about the present, not the past.

2. 'Memories of a year have passed, and seem so distant now' to
'I’m remembering summer time of last year and of distant past'

3. 'what you desire will be yours' to
'Eventually what we want still stays the same'

4. 'I guess different times will come, but you mustn't shed tears' to
'I wonder what has changed, and I know its that I cannot cry when I'm sad'

5. 'for the sake of looking up in the sky' to
'for your smile, I can fly into the sky'

6. 'Your smile is what matters, your speech is what matters. Therefore, I plan to melt away completely' to
'I think I understand what you mean with your smile and the words you've just uttered.'
