The people at RhythmZone have recently adopted 2 new artists and are marketing them as musical rivals. The project called “The Rival” features the debuts of Seara Ko-jo and Shion Miyawaki. What makes this project interesting is that both girls were friends before hand and graduated together and have both been signed on Rhythmzone in the same year. Also each girls respective debut a-side will have the same melody, but each song will be worked on by a different writer/arrangers. Seara Ko-jo’s a-side titled “JOY” was worked on by Daisuke Imai (Tatami, EXILE, Bi Nakashima, and chemistry) while Shion Miyawaki’s was worked on by Matsubara and Katashi (BoA, MISIA, Crystal Kay). The girls progress can be tracked at this site:

Both of their debut singles will be released on July 25th, 2007. Both will also be making appearences at this years A-Nation 07 concert Power Stage (in Shizuoka, Kobe, and Tokyo)

I read about this on JPM.

I think Shion's got the better first single. Her b-side is really good. Seara's songs are okay, too. I don't think I'll be buying either single, though =x

So it's rythmzone that's ridiculously gimmicky rather than the whole of avex.

It sounds sort of mean, but they could have backed out at any time.

I saw this a few days ago on the Rhythm Zone website. I really like Shion's voice, and her songs are kind of better :D However.

What a gimmick, rofl. So Avex like. They're friends, still, their record label wants them to compete with each other :D

I think it's kawaii! Aww best friends. ^_^
