Kanon Wakeshima is a vocalist and classically trained cellist who has been playing cello and studying Classical music since the age of three. She's just 19 years of age. Moi dix Mois' Mana is producing her and is responsible for the composition, programming and arrangement; and Kanon writes the lyrics.

Her debut single, still doll, is being released on 28th May on DefSTAR Records (Sony). It's being used as the ending song for the anime Vampire Knight. There is a sample from her debut single playing on her official site. Mana describes still doll as "a 3beat whisper voice type, medium slow mysterious number."

Personally, I like her~ She looks really sweet and that sample on her site is really nice. I'm expecting some nice things. She must be special if Mana's producing her.

She looks just precious.
I love the preview on the site, so haunting. I wouldn't expect any less from Mana.

Lovely preview. It's reminiscent of Marionette -prelude-. Cello rocks, by the way. I wish I could play it. Hopefully she can join the other classical vocalist Kanon that's in my list of favorite artists.

Me, too. At first when I saw the thread title, I was groaning and thinking "ANOTHER debut??!" and thought she was gonna be like most of the other debuts we've seen on AHS so far (poppy, nothing new, etc.). But the fact that she plays cello and is being produced by MANA shows something different and unique about Kanon. I look forward to hearing her work.

She looks promising than the other avex and sony debuters! And she looks sooo dolly which suits the song title! I would like to see the other half of her face! Keep me updated about her! Looking forward to her debut!

Wow, she honestly seems like the most promising debut artist since alan. I'm really excited to see what she'll do, because by the preview I'm already loving her. It sounds really sinister, and I love the classical influence.
