[HYDE]about the meaning of this song

okay I recently bought hyde's solo album FAITH and as I was flipping through the booklet (which was really weird in the way it was designed, font all over the place, but I digress) and in the first track Jesus Christ are these lyrics sung in english:

...the deepest trust, I won't leave you
but my child is fading, an innocent
...I'd do anything to save this life
take me instead

does anybody know what they could mean, is it metaphorical or biblical, or is he referring to a child in his life (aka his own?)

I ADORE HYDE's Faith album ^^

I think he's like "Jesus, I believe in you and trust you but my childlike faith/innocence is fading"

as for the "I'd do anything to save this life
take me instead" part... I think he saying he'd give his life to save Jesus...
I don't want this to turn into a religious debate but i'm just gonna say that HYDE wrote all then when he isn't even a Christian so he didn't really understand Jesus's purpose...

i saw an interview once where he said that while he was writing this album, he realized how much he didn't know about Jesus

^yeah I didn't want it to turn into a religions thing either, but thank you. I was thinking that he may have been talking about a piece of himself that's dying, but I didn't know if it could have been literal as in a literal child or figuratively.

with HYDE and many artists like him, there's no telling...

esp. since English isn't his native language, he could have not used the right words anyway... *shrugs*

LOVE the album tho ^^ and I LOVE HYDE too ^^

Faith has awesome lyrics, even though sometimes its hard to understand some of his english when he sings it, they are still good. My favorite are the ones stated before and this one from Mission:

No walls - embrace the world as one,
where music will guide us
guitars instead of guns

PS I posted this question on Hydeology, a discussion, news, and rumor community dedicated to HYDE, and heres some of the responses from there:

Quote:

be honest, I have no idea what HYDE is saying in "Jesus Christ" - my reading of it is that the storyteller in the song (not necessarily himself, though) has a child who's dying for whatever reason, and he's willing to give himself up to save the child's life. However I'm not 100% sure; that's just the way I read it and HYDE may have had a completely different idea in writing it.

I think he just wants to express the feelings of a believing man who's about to lose his beloved child.
The father is just a made up person and the child has nothing to do with Hyde's child (something like this really would be to personal for a song).

I've read an interpretation (sorry, don't know where anymore) that the child stands for the world, but I really doubt that Hyde would call this world "innocent". So I don't think there is any methaphorical meaning behind it.
From what I've gathered from my searching is that, because HYDE is rather secretive about his home life, there's no way he would make a song about his own child.

I love HYDE's music and lyrics ^^ they r so open to interpretation ^^

WOW well i remember a story form the Bible (i don't want this to turn religious either) about a man who has to kill his own son or sth like that. Maybe he's talking about that man, and how he'd have prefered to die instead of his son
