"Connection" between M and appears

i guess majority of you guys know that there is some what a "connection" between teddy bear and Memorial address.

Then is there any similar sort of "connection" between M and appears? appears was performed immediately after M twice. 1st in A Museum and 2nd in ASIA TOUR 2007. or the reason is just "good to listen"?

Open for discussion as well!!

Isn't it also strange that they where the only two that weren't originally ballads to appear on A BALLADS? And they're the only "HAL's progress" tracks on the album.

It's plausible to think there may be a connection.

alt, do you mean there's some conection in the lyrics?

if you are talking the melody, i think the connection between them is very nice^^ i love it, but if she performed again i think i'll get bored :/

Mappears.
Maria Appears!

Anyway, yeah. It's possible. They all both talk about relationships and such. They are defintely similar, lyrically.

"M" could possibly be the follow-up "prayer" to what she was experiencing during the time she was writing "appears"

lol but surprisingly M was performed before appears.

i haven read the lyrics though.. I find it very funny for ayu to perform songs with similar lyrics together.. If that's the case a lot of songs can be performed together! :)

I think there is some type of connection because in M, she sings about two people being split up and how she wants someone to love that hasn't been hurt and in appears, she sings about two lovers who appear to be happy but there is always a truth behind an actual relationship because many couples can appear to be happy but just because things appear well doesn't mean that it is...

^ok that make sense...

The lovers are walking hand in hand
Looking very happy
It appears that everything is going well
No one knows the truth but them

good point!

Wow, never thought of this before! That's definetly something to think about...

The same could be said about M and End roll or M and monochrome or M and the HANABIs - any songs about her love life, really. Just like you could find a pattern in songs like INSPIRE and End of the World, Real me and My Name's WOMEN so I don't think there's a distinct pattern here. She naturally writes about the same things several times, in different way with different experiences, of course. A lot of the time showing how she's evolved in how she sees things etc.

M and appears have some sort of connection.

I notice though, the two flow together pretty well. Plus, WHY put both of them onto A BALLADS, ESPECIALLY if appears really is just a simple album-promotion single. M and appears aren't ballads. And yet, there they are, and they're the only two "HAL's progress" mixes there.

I think M and appears [to Ayu anyway] are probably her most similar songs in terms of themes.. I mean, they both kind of speak of lovers' relationships during the winter. Ayu tends to pair songs together based on the feelings that they invoke when you listen to it.. so that could also be a reason why. [see STEP you -> Ladies Night and so on..]

They are both also sort of winter-y ballad-y songs. appears released in Nov 1999 and M in Dec 2001.

I always thought the connection was between M and SCAR...

the curtains are quitely dropped.

They meet again somewhere today,
those two people who understand each other.

I only know that the connection between both songs must be about love and winter : WINTER LOVE
