Sing to the Sky Era Description:

Following the release of her million selling album First Message, ayaka released WINDING ROAD, a collaboration with popular group Kobukoro. The single was very popular, managing to sell roughly 350,000 copies. Unfortunately, the positioning of her singles began to drop through the next couple releases. Jewelry day managed to stay strong at 2, CLAP & LOVE / Why placed 5th for two weeks and was ayaka's first single to be released in both CD and CD + DVD format, 手をつなごう / 愛を歌おう (Te wo Tsunagou / Ai wo Utaou) placed at 7 while おかえり (Okaeri) hit 6 for the week. She also released a digital single, For today. Her sophomore album, Sing to the Sky, is certainly something to celebrate so let's sing along with ayaka!!

Sing to the Sky Tracklisting:

Amai Yume 20th June 2008 08:35 AM

yep yep. Get excited!!!
I'm still working on the first post, hopefully you guys will like it :)

KarenPang 20th June 2008 08:41 AM

oh finally a new thread for her :D

http://wiki.theppn.org/Sing_to_the_Sky

a bit sore that Peace Loving People & Meiro are not included :( especially Peace Loving People as it seems to me that she loves to perform that no. live a lot of times during performances

I'm still baffled as to how come melody ~SOUNDS REAL~ & Real voice charted so badly especially melody ~SOUNDS REAL~ :S

Amai Yume 20th June 2008 08:44 AM

OMG, I like Okaeri but I would've preferred Meiro be the A-side...Meiro should've been a bonus track or something...it was soooo good!!
yeah karenpang, that's kinda weird...but at least Mikadzuki got great sales :)

KarenPang 20th June 2008 08:48 AM

I guess so Kevin although by right Mikazuki is not her highest selling single to date but rather it's WINDING ROAD that she did with Kobukuro

& oh btw , in case you're not sure , the 'pang' in my username's my surname :laugh

hehehe, I never would've put that together. Karen is a pretty name :yes
I think that CLAP & LOVE / Why was a great single and after First Message, I would've expected better sales but :no

:laugh thanks even though Karen's not found on my birth cert

I think at this point in time , digital sales are making more of an impact than the physical CD sales cos it's more convenient to purchase music from the net rather than to head to the CD store to pick up a physical CD at that

having said that I still buy physical CDs because unlike music that you can download from the net & delete them real easily with a click of a button , you can't do that for a CD + I think it's only fair to pay musicians for the efforts/time that they put into making an album

I agree with ya! I still buy physical CDs. For me, there's something about having the CD right there in my collection that makes it worth it. Unfortunately, I don't download anything so if there's an album / single with only 1 song that I want I have to get the whole thing [DOUBLE....Black Diamond]

With the rise in digital sales, Oricon really should take those into account and it's kind of annoying that they don't...

:yes it's only fair to get the musicians the props for what they deserve anyway

I know , Oricon a bit silly not to do so especially since in this century , it's the age where digital sales are going to be more superior than their CD sales counterpart .

They really should consider to include digital sales in the mix cos I'm sure it will sorta make the equation more balance in that sense

yeah, Oricon needs to get with the program...:innocent
I don't remember ayaka's digital sales but maybe CLAP & LOVE / Why would have benefitted from it. That single was gold and was her first (and only) one to be released in 2 formats. She still got 5, it doesn't make sense. Must have been hard competition...

However Sing to the Sky looks to be doing well from that NINKI
I really hope she breaks the million mark!! I already like this album more than First Message (although the cover is miles worse)

I don't know how the digital sales for For today were but it should have been released as a single though

STOS - I hope so although it's going to be a bit difficult to say whether can that be done .

First Message was really good , I hope the non singles songs on STOS will be on par if not slightly more superior than the singles on the album

Am relieved that WINDING ROAD's included in the album :D

I'm going to listen to WINDING ROAD soon, it didn't grab me at first listen but I'm finding a lot of ayaka songs are beginning to hook me when they didn't at first.

I think some of the previews sound great so I want to hear some full versions NOW! hehehe

First Message had its gems though...1,2,3,4 :yes
And that cover...OMG I LOVE IT! :D

And I agree, For today should have been a single :)

Start to 0 (Love) & Sha la la are great as well

I haven't listened to the previews of the new songs on STOS but I'm going to wait til the album's leaked out

That's good you're waiting for the album to come and listen to the album in full. I would've done that but truthfully I wasn't that excited for the album when I listened to the previews so I figured there would be no harm.
I really look forward to certain some of those new songs!!

KarenPang 20th June 2008 09:46 AM

for me some of the song titles on STOS are interesting like Mahoutsukai no Shiwaza (魔法使いのしわざ; The Magician's Deeds) & Gold Star . I hope it will sound as interesting as the titles

Well, I really liked the preview for Gold Star
魔法使いのしわざ didn't really interest me as much as others
愛も嘘も真実 (Love, Lies and Truth) and 今夜も星に抱かれて (Wrapped In The Stars Tonight) sound like awesome titles and have the previews to back it up :yes

Beauty4123 20th June 2008 01:17 PM
