on Aug 20 where the single of forgiveness would be released, an "& Special Edition" would also be released, more pics and a different package would be in this special edition. this speical edition is to celebrate the first release of & which solds over 300,000 copies

Thx for the info mimika. I think its kind of early for avex to release a SE of & single already. Oh well...

Let's see. H came out on July 24th, 2002 and H Special Edition came out on November 7th, 2002. If it were coming out August 20th, Avex would have probably confirmed it by now.

It would seem early for a [&] Special Edition, but it all depends on what exactly makes it special. If it's good enough, they could put it out. Otherwise, it would seem like a risk to put out a disc with nothing more than more pics so soon after the first release. Although, everything Ayu sells.

While the H special edition could offer all covers, what would this really offer? I think it would only make people mad at Avex, and Ayu, that the pics and stuff weren't released with the first one.

What seriously makes me doubt this though is this -
That's no big deal for an Ayu single. If they released a special edition every time an Ayu single sold that many, they'd be making special editions all the time. In fact, [&] showed a first sales slump compared to Ayu's other recent singles, probably due to the lull in the music industry as a whole. It really would seem weird to celebrate something that is lower than normal first week sales, which didn't even break 300,000. There has been no official confirmed source saying it's over 300,000 yet. It probably is, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. Also, by August 20th, it would probably have sold more than 300,000, so by then it wouldn't really be in celebration of that.

Also, while Avex has released Ayu stuff on the same date before, the economy as a whole and the music industry as a whole was better then ,and releasing 2 singles on the same date now would probably cause some competition between them. People probably wouldn't buy a disc of the same music over the new single, so it wouldn't be a good idea to release them on the same date. Rather, release them seperately so people can buy both and Avex would make more money.

So I doubt this is rumor is real.

hmmmm, this is pretty difficult to believe. I don't think it's true. It would be pretty silly to release a special edition now.

The special edition would only be released after it sells a million...It would not make any sense to release a special edition because it sold 300,000. If it's true, I hope it doesn't come out until around Christmas time..

Thanks for the info..but I doubt this rumour..if it is true, that is great..but like Ryoko said, special editions usually come out after a single sells over a million..like with "A" when it sold over a million copies, avex released a special gold edition, which is extremely hard to get..^^;

Agree!! I think avex won't make such silly mistakes.
If the SE of [&] will release on Aug 20, other record labels must release a ton of special edition of the singles in the labels that have sold over 300,000 copies... Japanese start losing interest in buying a single. 'Wow! All the record labels are $-sucking!!!'

Why would you wait for the special edition if we don't even know if there will be one? This is just a rumor, and probably a false rumor.
