GREEN as a copy?
Okay...I'm sure most of you out there remember when people were trying to say that "GREEN" was a copy or sample of an old Chinese song, right? Well, Ayu hasn't mentioned that the composition is a sample or anything in her diary and the single isn't out yet so we can't check the credits. Now that the full version of "GREEN" is out, I just wondered what everyone's final opinion was. I found the supposed original chinese song on youtube. Have a listen and discuss it here. ^^
Personally, I don't think they sound anything alike really. YouTube |
I dunno... there is something about GREEN that reminds me of the other song :S
Only the chorus though. |
yeah...i can understand how people can say that about the chorus.
|
Woah the beginning instrumental and chorus sound so much alike ._.
The rest of the song doesn't but... I'm beginning to wonder if the composer was influenced by this song (whether they realized it or not) xD. |
I still believe it samples the chorus. And there is NOTHING wrong with that.
|
the chorus sounds a little alike GREEN but isn't plagiarized °_°
most of the songs in the world sounds like others.. for example a Tohoshinki's song seems TO BE ^^' This is normal, but isn't right call this a copy. |
The first phrase of the chorus is the same in GREEN, but the rest of the song is absolutely different. I can see how the chinese tabloids will go to say bad things on the next ASIA TOUR because this coincidence :S

I don't think it's a rip off of the melody either.. |
Wasn't this post earlier?
And no... I don't think it's a copy... it's SOOOO different.. |
Not even the choruses are alike. There is note length difference, and OBVIOUS note length difference =/
|
There are only small parts of the song that sort of sound like GREEN, the rest sounds completely different.
|
The melody of whatever instrument was playing at the beginning was like in GREEN.
And then the chorus? Ayu's version definitely sounds better though XD |
Nah, no real simmilarities, and it's by far a great stretch. A few notes might be simillar, but not enough to make it seem like sampling. It was definitely a very little coincidence.
EDIT: Ok, I take back what I said. i guess I'm just not very familliar with GREEN yet and with that song either. I was carefully checking both now, and there's quite a lot of simmilarity in some of the chorus notes. I dunno...I don't think we'll ever know if there was some inspiration from it or just coincidence. Of course both songs as a whole don't really sound alike though. |
Yes I think there are similiarities in the chorusses. And listen to the end of the last chorus, the last note goes up like in GREEN. But I don't believe that the composer purposely sampled some melodies. Most likely the thing that can easily happen; the composer just has heard the chinese song but doesn't remember it.
And they're not so similiar I would freak out or anything. GREEN is still very original and reminds the other song only a few times during chorusses. :yes |
choruses are similar yeah
too similar xD maybe avex payed for that but at the end the song is ayu's ^^ |
only the 1st and 3rd line of the chorus is similar.. for me, i dont really care about copy or not. but for non-ayu fans, they will see it as a copy and it may be bad for ayu.
anyway, i dont care about non ayu fans either. |
begining and chorus are quite similar... btw, it doesnt matter
|
it's only some tunes in the verses and the first part of the repating chorus...the others....no
|
I think its similar only in the beginning. It's a nice song too, but i prefer ayu's version :)
|
The chorus of the song sounds similar to GREEN's chorus but the rest of the song sounds nothing like it. Could be inspired, who knows. But the first time I herd GREEN, I thought the arrangement and tone of the chorus was a rather common one even though I really liked it. So it could just be a coincidence also.
