No way to say

did anyone know why she wrote this song <No way to say>? is there any meaning behind this song when she first wrote? wiki didn't say anything.. :(

NintendoHTF1242 7th March 2009 04:54 PM

There is always a meaning why she would write a song lol. Wikipedia isn't that descriptive on it however. I don't know the meaning behind the song, but I'll let someone else tell you. Lots of members here know how to break down on symbolism and it's usually a fun read ^_^

well i think the meaning of this song is pretty clear, and somehow she wrote about herself as well as about whole menkind

pUrpLeSn0w 7th March 2009 05:23 PM

^yupz but what intrigued her to write that song? like her song <untitled ~for her~> she wrote that &

According to the lyrics, it seems that an old close friend of hers died away some while ago.
im curious why she wrote that..what was she thinking of when she wrote that song..any reason/deep meaning of that song to her etc etc

Ayumi_lover 7th March 2009 07:00 PM

^well, it's like her usual theme, and she seems suffering from people's secrets. Don't you find that "No Way To Say", "About you", "Secret" and "Ourselves" are similar in some way?

wasn't it around the time when she had her 'writer's block'?
in 2004 interview was said that she was like closed in four white walls and couldn't write any lyrics (i mean - find words to write properly what she was thinking, feeling)... i always thought it was the meaning of this lyrics... ; )

You shouldn't be so surprised heh. This is exactly what she is good at. It's a pretty straight-forward song really. Definitely one of her sadder ones but she's writing about pain and living with it. She states the obvious; that people are living with pain and feelings they sometimes can't convey no matter how much they try or want to. In a sense she herself is admitting in this song that she's just another person too, not immune to hurt like the rest of us. There are songs where she is full of strength and confidence, and there are songs where she admits she is weak. The second verse of the song shows this. Some glimpse of hope may be seen too though, where she states that it is "no use fearing the future she can't deny". Perhaps this is a firm resolution to move on despite her "unhealing past". There are a number of guesses as to who "you" is in the song. If we connect her past to this "you", could it possibly be her father? This is going a little into the PV, which I thought contained a different message from that of the song.

In the end, like the song title points out: "No way to say". In its simplest form, it's stating something really really direct. She has no way of expressing some of the feelings she wants to express and obviously other people live with this problem as well. It is because she states something so obvious that this song has such a powerful impact; people may know it to be true, but they do not consciously realize it like her. Ayu was never good at talking with people or with words. If you looked at her way back when she debuted, she talked very slowly to the point where others thought she was probably stupid or something. Quite unfortunate, really. Let's just say it was probably considered "out of norm" to some Japanese. She did not have experience with these kinds of things like others and had to really think before she spoke; a result of keeping to herself. To put it simply, she wasn't your "average" teen or pop star. She grew up in special circumstances that made her extremely unique compared to other kids her age at the time. She writes songs like these to save and heal herself, and later to save others. If you think about it she didn't have a way of letting out these emotions prior. This was one of the main reasons she became a singer in the first place. It was a place where she could be honest with herself and a way for her to let off some steam. If she's happy she'll write something optimistic and if she's feeling down she'll pen a song with a darker tone to it. Ayu's songs are a direct representation of her honest feelings. Though she's not so good with words in person and can't convey them very well, isn't she doing exactly that through the song, "No way to say"? This might lend a little more credibility to what I'm saying.

she said in 2004 that she was in a small room with white walls at the left and the right, up and down before 2004, she wasnt speaking about writing, she was speaking about avex, it was about the A BEST incident and the time around that

NintendoHTF1242 7th March 2009 11:31 PM

Wow, Jimex thanks for that, I was thinking about why she named the song "No way to say" XD It's cool to read long posts like that on her songs

jimex289 8th March 2009 01:32 AM

^It actually took me a while to make the connection lol. It was basically staring me right in the face and I didn't see it until a little while after I read the lyrics. Then a lightbulb went off hahaha.

pUrpLeSn0w 8th March 2009 02:15 PM

^yo jimex289 that's a really great deciphering of her lyrics, somehow yeah, i guess everyone has got somethings which could not be put into words that easily huh? but bottling up everything ain't really that healthy & by writing that lyrics, she's actually relieving herself yeah? that's is one of the most beautiful & touching lyrics that i've read i'd say..really lurve it alot..it's juz somehow..gets into me..hmmm

jimex289 9th March 2009 07:01 PM
