Ayumi's promotion?
 

does anyone know what's going on with her not being in a lot of magazines especially when she has a new album coming out? and no lives for any new songs. i read that she might be banned from performing on TV? is there any truth to this?

i'm just confused. she has a new album coming out in just a little over two weeks, shouldn't she have already had at least one TV live?

They can't ban Ayu from TV. Half the population in Japan would stop watching TV....or more LOL. Where'd u hear that????

She's been kinda busy in LA.. Maybe she'll do some around the release or after.

I'm not sure whats going on but no matter what it is strange. No matter how busy she is, this is the first time that she has had virtually no tv promotion in her career. Doesn't really make sense.

But yeah, there is a rumor going around about her possibly being restricted from performing on at least Music Station, maybe more. It is because supposedly she did not give TV Asahi a former apology for canceling Music Station at the last minute. (which is indeed considered a serious thing in Japan, no matter what the circumstances may have been.)

I also wonder if maybe she simply does not have confidence in her live tv voice since really I wouldn't say any of her performances last year were in the 'great' category.

We will find out by the end of this month though I suppose.

She uses them for promotion, but it's also the other way around: they use her for ratings!

Well, honestly as far as I know from what I've seen in ratings threads is that at least for the last year or two, Ayu has not had a significant impact on the ratings of music programs one way or the other. Now if this rumor is true and it were 2000/2001 etc., then yes, it would be suicide for the network.

Even then, I still see CMs related to her just about every break here. Honda, DB, Panasonic...so she's still getting usual exposure I guess.

Update on the situation: There is a Music Lovers Super Live event on March 19th, to be aired on March 24th (day before the album release). Perfect time for her to do a performance, however she is not listed on the guest list.

Also, the tenative artist schedule for Heyx3 through April 9th have been posted and so far no Ayu. Though there is a chance that she will be on their 3 hour live SP in a few weeks, though no one knows really.

I just watched like 10 minutes of commercials on KeyHole TV, and no ayu :(
I've seen several different Panasonic commercials, a Honda commercial and even a Wacoal commercial but none of them had Ayu in it!
Do they only air on specific channels? I'd love to see one "live"!

oh btw, I also saw a morning show where they had an interview with the Dragonball Evolution actors, and "Rule" was playing like all the time :D
