Her sister had found her dead body at 5.30pm, korean time. She was hang to death. according to her sister, she had always been suffering from depresion and it got worse recently. She always keep to her room and hardly go out. Their parent had passed away 10 years ago, and they only had each other. 张紫妍 had tried keeping pets but it does not help her condition.

According to the police investigations, there are no sights of murder, so their conclusion is suicide.

Oh no, this is so sad to hear. :(

KarenPang 11th March 2009 05:56 AM

I saw that on the papers yesterday & the front section of Life used Hana Yori Dango's pic instead of the Korean version :dead2

but it's very unfortunate , it showed an ugly side of the drama in the sense that despite it achieving sky high /great ratings , the cast are indirectly suffering in 1 way or another

I never watched the Korean version but still this's really depressing & sad , RIP to the poor girl

pommy48 11th March 2009 05:59 AM

i quite like the korean version, except that i HATE how all the names/backgrounds are changed...i'm curently downloading ep17.

i use that site a lot, but is it really right to talk about the drama when this is a thread telling that someone died...it just feels disrespectful to be off topic >_<

Poor girl :(

The Korean entertainment industry is such a mess. Something needs to be done.

yes Genie , I was like EH !?!?! when I saw that HYD pic that Strait Times used in Life yesterday , almost got a shock & I was wondering what happened ? :dead2

anyway with regs to the korean version of HYD , I think the reason as to why the names & background of the story have been changed is because the staff cannot copy 100% original of the Japanese take of HYD , let alone the manga due to copyright issues & etc

the korean version you can tell , it's more customised to the local context in Korea which more or less make it unique . My younger sister has been watching it since the 1st episode & she said that it's like a new drama to her even though it's still HYD at the end of the day

AyuGAME 11th March 2009 06:26 AM

its really scary...
suicide is kind of trend in that country...and its crazy...

AyUta 11th March 2009 07:16 AM

^ Being here at AHS, this is the first I've heard of so many suicides in Korea. It's horrible. May she rest in peace.

not really, it's about her and this drama is one of her last works and brought her popularity.

Oh wow. So she was the one who killed herself. I read back last week about this. I thought it was the girl who played Jan Di. This is really said tho. Is she the one who played Miranda? DDD: If so, I luffed her character even if she was a meanie to Jan Di. I hope her sister can find peace as well as the cast members.

kirei_ayumi 11th March 2009 08:43 AM

wow, my condolences to her family.

Mirai Noah 11th March 2009 07:24 PM

I've never seen the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango... but it's still sad. :(

RikkuChii 14th March 2009 01:43 AM

Oh my God, that's really sad..

..there have been too many Koreans killing themselves..I wonder what's going on over there?

LacusClyne 14th March 2009 08:11 AM

now i just read in the japan entertainment news that she was forced to 'accompany' one of her company's clients for the night, just days before she commit suicide!

it's horrible if that is true, the korean entertainment seem to be out of hand nowadays, i really hope this is not the reason.
