something wanted to ask about Curtain call
i'm not good in english
so, what's the title means? something personal? or something emotional/ sensational? and i noticed one thing, after listening preview, either 1st sentence of chorus/ verse, most are begin with "ki ko e de ru...." so I want to see its lyrics and meaning |
Curtain call is like an ending to a show, especially a musical, if I'm not wrong.
End roll actually means something like that, but end roll is more like the end credits of a show... yeah. And from my nooby Japanese, the chorus seems to be something like "Listen to my voice"... it sounds touching~ |
Well, I'm not that good to english neither, so I had it explained too xD
As when you go to a theatre, it ends with the curtain opens and closes, and the actors succumb (right word?) a lot of times. It's curtain call. So it basicly means "End", and it's a perfect tittle for an end track after my opinion! |
waterballoon explained it pretty good^^
but i think the word is kikoeTeru, not kikoeDeru ;) and yes that means listen/listen to me/listen to my voice etc.^^ |
Oh, thanx for the explanation! I was wondering about too. And yes, very good name for the last song.
|
A "Curtain call" is like, the final bow. In musicals, after the show is over and the stage goes dark, it will light up again and the cast will bow, starting with the ensemble and working up to the main actors and actresses. Then there will be a company bow
|
^ Yay! Someone who knows what it really means! ^^ (Everyone here explained what a curtain call is fairly well, but still. :P I'm a musical freak, so I'm like, exact definition! OMG!)
|
thanks for the info
|
is Curtain Call something like what happened in AT07 for Boys & Girls?

I think it's a brilliant title :) |
Oh I just wanted to elaborate more in this 'curtain call'.
In an orchestra/symphonic band concert (trumpeter here! :D), a curtain call is when the concert ends, and the audience will be clapping etc... and there will be several rounds of the conductor coming back to the stage to receive flowers, and if there are guest conductors/players, they will also come back (only one person at a time though) to receive flowers. But I doubt Ayu is referring Curtain call to that... it's still a nice name though. Reminds me of End roll, which is beautiful too. |
when i hear the title "curtain call", i thought she was retiring! cuz eminem had an album with this title, and ppl were sayin he was retiring too..(but he came back)
|
Hmmm, I think kikoeteru can also mean "I can hear your voices" instead... ofc we can't be sure of the context as of now. XD Ayu could be saying "Can you hear my voice?" or "I can hear your voices."
!! Oh wait, the lyrics of Curtain Call were revealed by Ayu on a TA message right? Can just check that~ |
^ in lyrics there is "kikoeteru watashi no koe ga"
That what I hera from CM^^ |

yaya i also think of that too |
this song sounds great!! :D
thanks to all! |
Wow, the translation for the line of the chorus sounds so pretty <3 I didn't think much of the little clip, but I'm hoping it proves me wrong.
Curtain Call is a good name for the last song in an album..^^ But I hope it isn't a sign that it's going to be a looong wait until the next album..@-@; |
Ahhh.... now I know, what Curtain Call means. Since I know the title of that song, I wonder, what will be the meaning.
Ok.. no I know it. I never heard it befor. |
n i hope it isnt d sign of her retairing soon..
;( |
It sounds nice. I like the fact they did not stack her voice with tons of back vocals like usual. Sounds very pure. ^^=
