In the lyrics to I am..., Ayumi talks about searching for just one word. What do you think that word is? :D

I personally think that the word is goodbye, I mean, the lyrics to me appear to be about loss and parting. But what about you guys?

I am came afterwards A Best era..that time she was fightin' against avex, because she felt more a product than a person and her choices were all finalized to sales..
so maybe identity and freedom are the right ones.

I thought it meant her "name"? I've always thought it's just like that and never given any more thought to it :dead2

So it doesn't literally mean her name Ayumi but more like, who she truly is and by what "name" the universe gives her, sorta like losers and winners in no more words.

EDIT: so the "word" imo isn't yet known in the song since she is still looking for it, so it's hard to say. Of course there's the theory of it going like "I am... Rainbow". I am -> She doesn't know what she really is, Rainbow -> She has come to see she's "a rainbow".

^ i always took it to be "love" too, because it's one of the common themes that she "lacks" or "searches for" in her songs.

Yep, me to. She talks often in her songs about being unable to say the word "love."
