Top 3 TV Performances (vocal-wise)
 

we have discussed about her bad performances and playbacks-lypsynching, although i think she had done both of them several times I also believe she has done several AWESOME vocal performances :D

for example together when domoto, B&D 130 people chose best artist, dearest with the early free&easy hair, daybreak gold disc award, a bunch of voyage lives, etc

soo which ones are your top3??????

Haru yo Koi on Music Fair 21 was one of my favourite TV performances vocal-wise =P (Other two..not so sure....probably something from SEASONS or Dearest or something)

A Song for XX @ Music Fair 2003-04-05 (the acoustic one, it's just so peaceful then it gets all rock!)
like all her dearest lives
and i love all of her HEAVEN performances

Yeah, cause all her tv performances are live. I'm pretty sure her 3 best are probably all from 2003. This might not be the best list, but its what first pops into my head and they were all done on the same day:
1. Haru yo Koi - Music Fair21 (2003)
2. A Song For Xx - Music Fair21 (2003)
3. Change the World - Ayu Ready (2003)

Also her forgiveness performances were always excellent. (all in 2003 as well)

overall 2003 was her best vocal year i think, TA tour, A museum and a lot of good tv and ayuready performances =D!

i forgot change the world i love it, i haven't see her singing those low notes ever again :(!
the three of them were in the same day??? :O!!! we need more days like that

yeah the TA tour was great, you could really listen to her voice without all the gimmicks she usually have in a concert, and ASFXX and Dearest from A Museum will always be my favorite

seems like 2003 is when her voice wasn't as squeaky, but wasn't as deep yet~ it had a temperate sound to it, warm, but not hot, cool, but not cold

but i found HANABI @ a-nation 05 to be spectacular

Even her '08 tour version of Dearest? ROFL. That Taiwanese ad made me happy that for 5 minutes I could sing better than a millionaire singer. xD :P

i love her dome tour perfomances..esp Duty, SURREAL and A Song for XX.

Dome Tour is the concert that makes me feel that Ayu can really sing! i like her vocals for that concert very very much

Because of You (MTV Video Music Awards 2004) - perfect.
Memorial Address (Arena Tour 2003/2004) - perfect again.
A Song for XX (Music Fair) - So much passion in this performance, in this song. Loved it, but she didn't sing it the same on the TA tour.

And another one off the top of my head... ourselves at AX Music TV or something in 2003. It was her only ourselves TV live, it was also awesome vocal-wise.

So I agree with SunshineSlayer, 2003/04 seemed to have her best vocals live. I think it's when her voice really matured after it was so shaky in 2001. But I haven't watched her old lives in a long time, I've forgotten half the one's that were good.

^ Actually she had 4 Ourselves tv lives. All were great though.

I agree also that Hanabi at A-Nation 05 is great. I would say 2005 is her second best vocal year. However, isn't this thread only supposed to count TV performances? At least that's how the first post makes it seem.

I didnt watch many TV performances and I cant choose just 3, so here my favourite vocal performances overall^^ sorted by date

Duty from DT01, perfect pitch for the song
Vogue from DT01, best performance of the song
Endless sorrow from DT01, great performance, both vocal and visual wise^^

I LOVE Connected CDL0102...someway, the performance just seems perfect to me and made me love Connected

I Am... at AT02 was amazing as well

Ageha Chou AyuReady 23.11.02 One of my favourites, shes just singing so different for that song and I love hearing her voice together with a male voice

appears HEYx3 2003.12.22 I LOVE her vocals in this one^^ but her costume is bleh...

teddy bear and Memorial Address at Arena Tour 2003-2004, both were so emotional sung! And Because of You, that one was really nice as well

About You MUSIC FAIR 2004.12.11 very different from the tour performance(which i prefer) but she hit more notes

WHATEVER CDL0405 was my highlight if that concert, just great^^ Duty and Carols were really good as well

HAPPY ENDING, Moments, walking proud, About You, HONEY from AT05

Born To Be...At06 is good, but clearly topped by is this LOVE?, some parts of (miss)understood and Pride

BLUE BIRD on a-nation '06 became one of my favourites as well, no idea why...

No way to say CDL0607 was great, same with Free & Easy

Memorial Address at Music Station is great as well, I dont remember any outstanding performance from both AT07 and CDL0708 though...

i didn't know a lot of people loved the dearest performances, i just like the acoustic ones, because the backup track in the normal ones overpowered ayu's voice just like in UNITE and NEVER EVER

i mentioned TV performances because they are more real, and some people mentioned DVD performances that I think are lyp synched, but either way it doesn't have to be strictly about tv performances xD!

I never knew people had such love for the Dearest performances. Usually people say her voice is too squeaky.

Haru yo koi is always my favorite TV performance from ayu. Her voice back then was amazing...absolutely amazing!!! I think most of her performances in 2003, like SunshineSlayer has already said, had very good vocal. I, too, really love very performances of forgivness.
