Shinji - Guitarist . D.O.B - 8th Feb 1979

Mao - Lead vocalist . D.O.B - 23rd Oct 1977

Yuya - Drums . D.O.B - 9th Dec 1981

Band's Bio

SID was formed in 2003 , when Mao recruited Aki after seeing him play live. He later recruited Yuuya and Shinji from their respective bands to work with SID part-time as support, and it wasn't until early next year (2004/01/14, making 1/14 the band's official anniversary) that they chose to remain with SID as official members, leaving the band with a full and lasting lineup.

The band started off small, but not without a certain charming flair. Where most bandmen handed out fliers, they also used megaphones as a means of personal promotion. Despite having only a small collection of songs to offer, they worked relentlessly to produce more.

Their releases varied widely in style and composition, and the band made it an obvious goal to appeal to a broad audience - a plan which obviously worked. SID grew rapidly in their initial years, at a rate which surprised numerous publications and notoriously earned them the title "the monster band of the indie scene".

SID signed first with Danger Crue records, working with Yasunori Sakurazawa, who aided in the arrangement of many of their early songs. Before long, even at their then indie status, SID began charting with major releases on Oricon and successfully selling out numerous large venues, Budokan among them.

They stood out from their peers with their ever-changing sound and the ease with which they could shift between styles, a characteristic that could describe few other visual kei bands. Their major debut concert was held on November 2nd, 2008 at Nippon Budokan - selling out in under three minutes - and following a final indie tour held within standing live halls all throughout Japan.

Beauty4123 22nd August 2009 07:10 PM

i know SID though "Uso". since i :heart me some Fullmetal Alchemist songs (i got to know Laruku through their FMA song "READY STEADY GO"~ :smitten).

i'm gonna listen to "hikari" soon. need to clear space off my iPod. :laugh

i typically don't like visual-kei bands, but i guess these guys are aiight. LOL.

Aggar 23rd August 2009 01:43 AM

I love Uso too. That songs make me their fan XD
oh btw , i thought they were Visu.

Beauty4123 23rd August 2009 01:45 AM

i don't think their as visual kei, as let's say, alice nine.? for example. they pretty much have their own style compared to other VK bands :yes but that's just how i see it, lol.

BTW, i found a performance they did of Uso on MUSIC FAIR. the talk with tegomass and suga shikao is also in it. so funny, lol.

^ oh yeah, they're quite tame in comparison to the others. it's probably why i can tolerate them more. :laugh

Beauty4123 23rd August 2009 02:07 AM

same here, irene! i personally don't like VK, but i love SID and their own style :D

btw, you'd probbably wanna see the performance link that i edited my post with. TEGOSHI! *dun dun dun* :mischief

Aggar 23rd August 2009 02:24 AM

^ me 2 , I don't like VK either. Now i can relax and support them with no worries :D
and the link , I saw it may be in News thread
btw , I heard they said they are Visu !

KarenPang 23rd August 2009 02:26 AM

@ Lisa - thanks will update the 1st post now & ehhhh really over the Aki looked like Ohno comment ? o_O

I swear Aki does , still :laugh

My younger sister already knows about SID because of Uso as she's an anime nut & when I saw the Uso PV being played on TV a few days ago , I was immediately hooked to the song & the PV's just so colourful & beautiful :luv2

Man , Sony BMG made OS presses for BOTH CD + DVD's editions of hikari & the worst thing's that , I don't know which one to get in due time :grumpy

I honestly don't really care that much for the DVD contents because it's tour footages for both Type A & B LOL

& considering that they're deemed a Visual Kei band , they're quite 'tame' as compared to The Gazette , Alice Nine , an cafe , image wise

I need to think about it on whether I want to get it or not :innocent . I'm quite sure I will get hikari in due time but definitely not now

KarenPang 23rd August 2009 08:04 AM

2 Dome no Kanojo PV can be downloaded via http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93577 :D

LacusClyne 23rd August 2009 12:59 PM

ha ha, i download a random single2℃目の彼女 at verycd, coz the cover looks nice. Then when FMA came out, and i found their song being the EP, i'm so happy.

VK is not bad, i like Alice 9th and An Cafe also.

KarenPang 23rd August 2009 01:11 PM

I watched 2 Dome no Kanojo's PV earlier on when I was in my parents's car & man it's so beautiful & winter inspired

I love what I have seen with regards to their PVs but Uso's still top dog for me :heart

Beauty4123 23rd August 2009 04:18 PM

uso and 2℃目の彼女 are my favorite singles and PVs :love

btw, i forgot to mention this, but SID were kinda VK in their indie releases, but when they came to sony, they had their own style like they do now.
