2009～THE Year of BESTs and Compilations～
Maybe its just that I haven't paid much attention in previous years to what other artists are releasing, but I cannot believe this many Best albums and compilation albums have been released this year! I opted not to make this into a poll because the winners would be too obvious.
What was included: Best albums and some compilation albums released within 2009 by well-known artists in Japan and those popular at AHS. I don't think it's that uncommon :) Look at how many BEST OF albums there are in the Oricon 2008 top 100. For example:
EXILE LOVE EXILE CATCHY BEST EXILE BALLAD BEST EXILE ENTERTAINMENT BEST Amuro Namie - BEST FICTION B'z The Best "Ultra Pleasure" B'z The Best "Ultra Treasure" Hamasaki Ayumi - A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ Shibasaki Kou - Single Best And that's just a small part, there are way more best of albums to find in that list. I guess BEST OF's are just a really big deal in Japan :) |

(2009.09.30) Seiko Matsuda - Diamond Bible (2009.10.07) m-flo - MF10-10th Anniversary- (2009.11.11) Seiko Matsuda - Christmas Songs There were also bunch of Enka and oldies best of albums released this year, but I won't mention those. The only exception are THE ALFEE (1974 debut) and Seiko (1980 debut) because they both still have active careers. |

There were indeed some random compilation albums..however, this year also had quite a bunch of pretty good original albums!

Really its been like this for the last few years. I don't see this year as really sticking out anymore than usual.

New songs are sampled from classical music, that's why it's called my Classics! |
