I would love to know some 70's and 80's Jpop-singers ^^
I know: Megumi Hayashibara, Seiko Matsuda, and some others I don't remember them... :33 please and thankyou guys for the help |
Oh this Thread is a good idea. Since last week I startet to like the 80s music from Japan.
Here is my recommendation for you. Anri, I really like her music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-iWaojMfLs |
Rebecca - one of the best Japanese bands ever with an extremely powerful vocalist whose stage performance became legend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXzFD7xJfA8)
Nakamori Akina - Another legendary performer, great deep voice. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLF2GXEMiy8) Yamaguchi Momoe - was Nakamori's main influence and possibly Japan's most revered idol ever. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AGamviF9_I) |
FAIRCHILD is a great 80's band. it is You's band. They're song Lovesick wa Suki is great! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU4tLlZaNHQ
Jun Togawa's more pop works are great too. She mixes in operatic vocals with catchy pop. SukiSuki Daisuki is my favorite of hers. The PV is hilarious/so well done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkXIOdOwGTE |
thanks for recommend :33
I'm gonna wrote them up on a list :33 any albums to try? |
^ For older artists, it's probably best to just start with their greatest hits albums.

thankyou all
but I'm not into folkmusic DD: |
Thanks for these. I really like Yamaguchi Momoe's voice, and Playback Part 2 is becoming a favorite song now...:P I even saw that Utada Hikaru sang that song live. She has the perfect voice to sing that song. Anyone know where I could find an mp3 of Yamaguchi Momoe playback part 2?

1980s is the most interesting era of Japanese music if you ask me. Most of the Japanese stuff I listen to today are all from 80s to middle of 90s. When I think of 80s JPop, it's definitely the term "idol" that comes to mind. Here are some artists/bands that haven't been mentioned yet:
Kyoko Koizumi, Masahiko Kondo, The Checkers, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Yukiko Okada, Minako Honda, Naoko Kawai, Yoko Minamino, Princess Princess. Quote:
