Ayu's Name
 

This is so random...but have you guys ever noticed that like, Ayu's name is really pretty written?

Like in my itunes, when I see it next to other Japanese names, it's all curvy and interesting looking.

I think it's really pretty to look at. To me, the characters for her last name look really unique...but that may just be because I don't really know a lot about kanji...

what do you guys think?

Well I think that's because she doesn't use her given name's kanji, so her name stands out in my iTunes too.

I always liked it because it stood out. Koda Kumi's looks so generic to me, and Namie's is just so...long. :laugh I like that Ayu's has the simplicity with it. :)

the hiragana for "ayumi" is very cute and the kanji for "hamasaki" wasnt as difficult as the one in namie's name..

hers is the only name i actually recognize xD and yes, it looks pretty artistic^^

Kanji vs Hiragana

I think ayumi looks pretty because it's in Hiragana. I thought that most Japanese ppl write their personal (first in the US) names in Kanji or Katagana (names derived from non japanese origins) when they're older, but ayu still writes in Hiragana lol. I guess she's a child for life. But the kanji for Ayumi is 歩, or step.

it's cool looking, but I could never write it. too bubbly looking, the symbols for a-yu-mi. look too similar to me. and the yu looks like a fish.

I like how her name is pronounce in Chinese 浜崎歩 (Bing Qi Bu) but, 浜崎 あゆみ is nice too.

when pronounced, her name has a certain audible flow that a "harsh" language like Japanese usually lacks. it's just so much fun to say and write her name!

I love it! It's always so curly, though I love Namie's name better.....but I just like complicated characters more lol

hmm..hamasaki doesnt look that pretty to me o_O but ayumi looks pretty :)
i never cared for the "beauty" of the words unless im trying to write it out xD
and, i think namie's name is really consistant or something, and looks like a straight row of words with around the same strokes.
it's an entirely different story when it comes to signatures ;)

Japanese is a harsh language? I don't think so. XD

I think that Ayu's birthname is 濱崎歩, isn't it? Still pronounced the same, which is what I prefer. But I think that 浜崎あゆみ also has a sort of...grace about it. :P
Especially when written cursively.
