Playing Ayu's Music in a store

I work at the local dollar general in my town and ever since I started playing Ayu's music, people could not stop inquiring about it. From the way things seem, it looks like the ayu-mi-x 3 is the customer's favorite. :D Me thinks the people adore her!! :innocent

Hey that's cool!

I sometimes play Ayu on my computer but since I'm in an office nobody bothers to ask :P So I put Ayupans and my 2009 desktop calendar on the desk but still nothing. Then I changed my wallpaper to Ayu....

.........still nothing!!

Lol I just kinda innocently blast my iPod as I walk around...

I've only had one person ask me what I was playing, though XD

It was at my mom's dental office, and the person who asked was like, "Oh, who's that you're listening to?" So I was like "Um...Ayumi Hamasaki..." And she's like, "Who?" So then I just said, "She's from Japan."

Then...BOOM her kids suddenly wanted to listen!

So yeah...they got bored in about five seconds lol

nemesisyume 2nd December 2009 10:16 AM

Beautiful Fighters was playing last time I was there ~

I did that at my mom's store. It seemed like no one cared. :(

angelicwitch1983 2nd December 2009 12:55 PM

What's prety funny though is that I live in a small, small town and I'm one of the very few asians there. :thud Just yesterday I had someone ask me where to get the ayu-mi-x 3 cd for their christmas party. :D

Man, I really wanted to play Ayumi and Kumi at my last job, but they wouldn't let me. ...It was a diner, specifically for families and old people, so they wanted to play relaxing music, classic rock and muzak, lol. :o

This is kinda depressing, lol.... I work at Pier 1, which is a decor & furniture store known for being very quirky, worldly, and unusual. The music the store plays DEFINITELY fits that description, there's been music played from africa, india, france, germany... So yeah, playing japanese pop & rock would be awesome.

The problem is, the store is equipped with a specialized CD player that ONLY plays CDs encoded a certain way - that is, only CDs created by Pier 1 corporate. So I couldn't play any of my own music if I wanted to!

So yeah. Depressing. XD

haha that's so cool. I will someday be able to run a shop and I will play Ayu music 24/7! haha. the only time I've been able to do that was in my Japanese class and i was presenting a project -- I played Gackt's The Next Decade and TVXQ's Bolero (too bad Bolero didn't work though... :( ) Anyway, people afterwards were like... "Where'd you find that music?!" But that was about it and since it was in my Japanese class and it wasn't even Ayu... Anyway, my next presentation that I put a video in I will put her music in definitely.

When I used to work at a bottle shop I played some ayumi, but stopped after customers started giving me weird looks. :P

Awesome thing is that I found out from one of my friends that they're going to try to open a combination of skate park, arcade, and laser tag place in our area and I talked her into letting me play some ayu trance music in the laser tag spot. Kind of interesting when you think about it. :)

AyuSecret* 7th December 2009 04:13 PM

I've blasted Ayu remixes before too, At a big party...Everyone was too drunk to care what they were raving to though, just as long as it had a beat lol. Ah alas....

We're good promoters =) I'm a sportsinstructor, and I'm responsible for often blasting Ayu's music during my classes. You can hear her outside, in the city centre aswell

Lol, I find myself talking with my dentist's assistant a lot of the time. I actually took a book recommendation from her. Dentists can be pretty interesting when they're not drilling your teeth. :P Anyhow.

And oi, isn't that always the thing I have to say. "Yeah, she's from Japan... never mind." =_= And then people get all fascinated and want to listen to my iPod. Only one person has stuck around for more, and every time she listens to Ayu she's all like, "She's such a rip off! I could've sworn these beats were used three years ago". :rolleyes

rakeru 8th December 2009 04:28 AM

i heard her in a store in China town, and of course i flipped out. if i ever get to pick music at a job, she will definitely be there!

angelicwitch1983 8th December 2009 04:31 AM

Awesome news, you guys! One of my friends/coworker now wants a copy of 'next level'!!! I think this is going to end up becoming something awesome ^_^b

AyUta 9th December 2009 01:54 AM

Haha, if I ever open my own store, I'm going to be playing Ayu music all day XD

asmAyumi1992 10th December 2009 10:47 AM

I've watched the perf rollin' Sparkle form AT 2009. I asked my friends to watch it because I think, they'll like it. And yes, most of them like it very much! I'm really glad about that!
